SHEET COMPOSITION - EXERCISE
1. Open
TutorialPresentation_Input_LearningRevit
Online.rvt 1
2. View tab -> Sheet Composition -> Sheet
-> Load -> A3 Metric.rfa
3. From Project Browser, Select the sheet ->
Right click and Rename it as:
 Number: A01
 Name: Ground Floor Plan

4. Drag and Drop the 00 Ground Level


floor plan onto the Sheet.
SHEET COMPOSITION - EXERCISE
5. Select the Ground Floor Plan
view on the sheet->
Modify|Viewports tab ->
Viewport panel -> Activate
View 1
6. View control bar -> Turn on
the Crop boundary and Crop
View -> Adjust the Crop
Boundary so that the view is
within the boundary of the
sheet -> Adjust the Grid line
length if needed.
7. Properties palette -> Turn on
Annotation Crop and adjust
the annotation crop
boundary if required.
8. Double click on the empty
space to deactivate the view
SHEET COMPOSITION - EXERCISE
9. Select the View title line and adjust its position.
10. Select the Viewport and adjust the length of the
view title line. 1

11. Select the viewport -> properties palette -> Identity


Data Group -> Title on Sheet parameter: name the
view as “Ground Floor Plan”.

1. File tab -> New -> Family/Title Block ->


Select A3 metric.rft
2. A3 size rectangle is already available in
the template.
3. Create tab -> Detail panel -> Line -
>Draw panel -> Pick lines
4. Options bar: Choose Offset as 12mm
5. From Subcategory: choose Wide Lines 2

6. Create a border as shown in Fig 1.

7. Create tab -> Detail panel -> Line ->Draw panel -> Line
8. Choose the subcategory as Thin Lines
9. Draw lines as shown in Figure below.

10. Create tab -> Text panel -> Text


11. Create a new type of Text(Edit type->Duplicate)
and change the text size to 5mm.
12. Add the text as shown in Fig 1. 2

13. Create tab -> Text panel -> Label -> Click
beside the Project Name text to place the label
14. Edit Label dialog box will appear -> Choose
Project Name parameter and and transfer it to
the label parameters window -> OK
15. Select the Label -> Edit Type -> Duplicate and
change the text size to 5mm 2
16. Adjust the position of the label if necessary.

17. Add another label “Sheet Name” as shown in
the Fig 1.

18. Select the label after placing it ->
properties palette -> Horizontal align:
Change it to ‘Center’
19. Insert tab -> Load from Library -> Load
Family -> Load a North Arrow from the
library (Stored under annotations category)
20. Create tab -> Detail panel -> Symbol -> 2
Select the north arrow from the type selector
-> place it as per Fig 2.

17. Add another label “Sheet Name” as shown in
the Fig 1.
18. Select the label after placing it ->
properties palette -> Horizontal align: 1
Change it to ‘Center’
19. Insert tab -> Load from Library -> Load
Family -> Load a North Arrow from the
library (Stored under annotations category)

20. Create tab -> Detail panel -> Symbol ->
Select the north arrow from the type selector
-> place it as per Fig 2.

21. Insert tab -> Import panel -> Image ->
select ‘ DUDBC banner.png’ from the tutorial
files 1

22. Place the image as per Fig 1 and adjust its


size and position.
23. Save the titleblock family and load into
project. 2

24. View tab -> Sheet Composition panel ->


Sheet -> Select the title block family you
created
25. Drag and Drop any view on the sheet to
create a layout.
PRINT SETUP - EXERCISE
1. File -> Print (Ctrl+P)
2. Select your printer 1
3. Print range -> Choose Selected
views/sheets -> Click on Select… ->
From View/Sheet Set dialog box,
choose the sheets you wish to print
4. Settings -> Setup -> in the Print Setup
dialog box, choose the following:
 Size: A3, Orientation: Landscape, Paper 2
placement: Center, Remove lines using: Vector
Processing, Zoom: 100%

5. OK to print the documents.
