I am working as an assistant professor at the Department of Public Health college of medicine and
health sciences, Ambo University. I have a B.Sc. degree in clinical nursing from Addis Ababa
University, Mph in epidemiology from Jimma University. I earned my Ph.D. in epidemiology from
India Jawaharlal Nehru University. I have worked in clinical setups treating patients, with the
community focusing on prevention activities, as an expert at the zonal health department of a
government institution. During my stay at the zonal health department, I worked as a Maternal and Child
Health Coordinator, and communicable disease control expert especially focusing on the health
extension program from 2007 to 2010. Moreover, in Ambo university, I have been working as an
assistant professor, supervisor, examiner, and advisor in the college of medicine and health science
department of public health officer. Biostatics, Epidemiology, software, Research methods,
communicable disease control, disaster management and preparedness, are the courses I am delivering
in the department.
I have also experience in coordinating research project with national and international organizations.
One of my experiences is at Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI)for a multi-country research
project which has been conducted by AHRI, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and
Ghana.
I have reach experience in conducting empirical research with a mixed method using different software,
systematic review and meta-analysis, and have a number of publications. Most of my research works
mainly focus on maternal and child health, cancer care, health system and HIV/AIDS.

Currently, I am working as a postdoctoral fellow, with Harvard University, school of public health in
collaboration with Ethiopian public health institute and Saint Paul millennium medical college. This

research project uses different methods like secondary data analysis of longitudinal data from Health and
Demographic Surveillance Site and empirical research using qualitative methods.
