Main Objective By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to read and understand the
specific information and details of City on the Sea by answering three
comprehension questions correctly.

Complementar By the end of the lesson, pupils will be able to create a simple poem about

Set induction 1. Pupils are provided with picture cards of places that can be found in a city
and a small vase.
2. Then, T shows a picture of a cruise ship to the pupils.
3. In pairs, pupils choose four picture cards of places which they think can be
found on the teacher’s cruise ship and put them in the vase.
4. T opens a pop-up book and shows the places on the cruise ship.
5. T asks pupils to read the objectives of today’s lesson.

Lesson Pre-reading
Development 1. T introduces several vocabulary related to the reading text.
2. Pupils guess what those words means.

While reading
1. They refer to their textbook p. 14 and read the text entitled City on the Sea.
2. While reading, they need to find these information:
i. Is there a school and a library on the ship?
ii. Are there any swimming pools?
iii. How many cafes and restaurant are there on the ship?
3. Once finished, they share their findings to the whole class.
4. Then, each pupils received a worksheet, and they answer the
comprehension questions.
5. They discuss the answers with the whole class.

Post reading
1. In group of six, pupils need to come out with an imaginary cruise ship and
a simple poem about the places that can be found on the ship.
2. T reminds pupils about the use of ‘there is’ and ‘there are’ while writing the
poem.
3. Once finished, each group presents their ideas at the front of the class.

Closure 1. T asks pupils about things they will do or places they will visit if they go for
a holiday.
2. Pupils share their thoughts.
3. T reminds pupils about the moral values which are:
i. Spend more time with your family during the holiday.
ii. Spend according to your budget during the holiday.
