REFLECTION

At the beginning of my work immersion journey, I was filled with a mixture of fear,
nervousness and excitement. It was exciting and intimidating to think about using the
knowledge I gained inside a 4-walled classroom in a real-world situation. However, as I
immersed myself in the daily operations of the company that I have been assigned into, I
quickly realized that this journey would be more than just a requirement; it would be a
journey of self-discovery and growth.
Throughout this period, I have had the opportunity to apply the knowledge I gained in
my major subjects, such as Business Finance; Fundamentals of Accountancy, Business, and
Management; and Business Ethics, as well as our specialized subject that is Work Immersion,
to the realm of the corporate world. This exposure has deepened my understanding of
business concepts and enhanced my problem-solving skills. By immersing myself in the daily
operations of the company, I now have a better understanding of the difficulties in the
corporate world.
One of the key takeaways from my work immersion journey is the importance of
effective communication in a professional setting. I came to understand how important it is to
communicate clearly and concisely in order to build strong relationships with the people in
the working environment. I have improved my communication abilities by interacting with
different colleagues and have learned how to properly express my ideas and deliver
information. This experience made it clear to me on how important communication is to any
business endeavor's success.
Furthermore, my work immersion experience has brought to light the importance of
flexibility and adaptability in the fast-paced corporate world. While dealing with the
complexities of the ABM academic track as a student, I have encountered plenty of tasks and
challenges in the workplace. I have learned how important it is to be flexible and open to
learning new skills. I have grown both professionally and personally by accepting this
challenge and moving outside of my comfort zone.
ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

I would like to convey my heartfelt gratitude to the following persons and

organization for their significant support and assistance throughout this work immersion
journey.
First and foremost, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to our Secondary
School Principal IV, Sir Richard N. Laurente, for allowing us to be deployed outside the
school premises.
I would also like to thank our Work Immersion Teacher, Ma’am Irene Belle Lesigues,
for her guidance, support and encouragement throughout the work immersion process.
I am particularly grateful to Sir Jonel Maroto, our class adviser, for his assistance
during the work immersion period.
Furthermore, I would like to thank the owner of Four K Builders and Construction
Supplies, Mr. Floriano Canas, for allowing me and my co-work immersion students to be
deployed in their company.
I would also like to extend my gratitude to our work immersion supervisor, Ma’am
Jocelyn Tecson, for her guidance, assistance, and her will to teach us plenty of things
regarding the path that we will be taking.
I would also like to thank my parents for their constant guidance and financial
support, which has made it possible for me to go to the work immersion venue for the 80-
hour requirement.
In addition, I would like to acknowledge the support and encouragement of the other
members of my family and friends, who have provided me with emotional and moral support
throughout this challenging journey.
I thank you all for the invaluable contribution that enabled me to accomplish my work
immersion journey.

\ INTRODUCTION

My name is Arianne Faith M. Vertudes, a Grade 12 Accountancy, Business, and

Management (ABM) student of Tanauan National High School assigned to have my work
immersion at Four K Builders and Construction Supplies.

Work Immersion is one of the course requirements for graduation. A Senior High
School student must undergo Work Immersion in an industry that directly relates to the
student's postsecondary goal. Through Work Immersion, the students are exposed to and
become familiar with work-related environments related to their field of specialization to
enhance their competence.

One of the goals of the K to 12 Basic Education Program is to develop in learners the
competencies, work ethic, and values relevant to pursuing further education and/or joining
the world of work. To achieve greater congruence between basic education and the nation's
development targets, Work Immersion, a required subject has been incorporated into the
curriculum. This subject will provide learners with opportunities: (i) to become familiar with
the workplace; (ii) for employment simulation; and (iii) to apply their competencies in areas
of specialization/applied subjects in authentic work environments.

In view of this, the Work Immersion Portfolio is a compilation of written works,

activities, and experiences that we have completed as a student in Work Immersion. It
contains documents that will provide tangible evidence of the wide range of knowledge, and
skills, we possess as growing professionals.

Therefore, a work immersion portfolio determines how a student shows the faculty
that they are making progress toward achieving the stated standards or outcome of the work
site.
