TOOLS
Yarn for pattern: Drop Paris – Aran 100% cotton
75g – Pink
25g – Cream/Offwhite
10g – White
4 x 12mm safety eyes,
4mm hook
Stitch Marker
Small amount of brown yarn for nose features
Note: You can use black yarn to embroider eyes if you prefer not
to use the safety eyes
Stuffing material
Darning needle to sew together

TERMINOLOGY

U.K. Crochet Abbreviations


Ch = chain
Dc = double crochet
St = stitch
Sl st = slip stitch
Dc2tog = double crochet 2 stitches together
Fo = fasten off
BLO/FLO = Back Loops Only/Front Loops Only
Tr = Treble crochet

The Pattern is worked in continuous rounds so you don’t need to


slip st unless otherwise stated but I do advise you use a stitch
marker, so you know the beginning of each round.

Head
Using pink yarn make a magic circle
1. 6dc into magic circle (6)
2. 2dc into each st (12)
3. 2dc into each st (24)
4-5. dc in each st (24)
6. (dc in next st, 2dc in next st) repeat around (36)
7. Dc into each st (36)
8. (dc in next 5 sts, 2dc in next st) repeat around (42)
9. (dc in next 6 sts, 2dc in next st) repeat around (48)
10-14. Dc into each st (48)
15. (dc in next 6 sts, dc2tog) repeat around (42)
16. (dc in next 5 sts, dc2tog) repeat around (36)
17-18. Dc into each st (36)
19. (dc in next st, dc2tog) repeat around (24)
20-21. Dc into each st (24)

23. (dc2tog) repeat around (6) FO stuff and thread tail through
remaining stitches to close. The head will be sewn onto the
body after the face features are sewn on. Sew the side of the
head on the body (see making up pics below for help)

Eyes (Make 2)
Using white yarn make a magic
circle
1. 6dc into magic circle (6)
2. 2dc into each st (12)
3. Dc in each st (12) FO leaving a
long tail for sewing onto the
head. NOTE: Before sewing eyes
onto the head, insert the eyes
into the middle of the circle and secure. Sew eyes onto the
head before the snout.

Snout (top)
Using off white ch10
1. Dc in 2nd chain from hook and across. Now working on the
opposite side of the ch dc in each st (18)
2. (dc in next st, 2dc in next st, dc in next 6 sts, 2dc in next st)
repeat around (22)
3. (dc in next 2 sts, 2dc in next st, dc in next 7 sts, 2dc in next
st) repeat around (26)

4-6. dc into each st (26) FO leaving a long tail for sewing onto
the head and stuff.

Snout (bottom)
Using off white ch10
1. Dc in 2nd chain from hook and across. Now working on the
opposite side of the ch dc in each st (18)
2. (dc in next st, 2dc in next st, dc in next 6 sts, 2dc in next st)
repeat around (22)
3-5. dc in 3 sts, change to red, dc in next 6 sts, change to
white, dc to end (22) FO leaving a long tail for sewing onto the
front of the head. (pics for reference – position of snout top and
bottom – PLEASE REMEMBER TO SEW EYES ON FIRST)

Ears
Using pink yarn make a magic circle
1. 4dc into magic circle (4)
2-3. dc into each st (4)
4.(dc in next st, 2dc in next st) repeat
around (6)
5. dc in next st (6)
6. (dc in next 2 sts, 2dc in next st) repeat
around (8)
7. dc into each st (8)
8. (dc in next st, 2dc in next st) repeat
around (12)
9-10. dc into each st (12) FO leaving a long
tail and stuff. Sew the ear from the top point to the middle to
make the ear curl (refer to pictures). Sew the ears on each side
of the head.

Body
Starting at the bottom of the body using pink yarn make a
magic circle
1. 6dc into magic circle (6)
2. 2dc into each st (12)
3. (dc in next st, 2dc in next st) repeat around (18)
4. (dc in next 2 sts, 2dc in next st) repeat around (24)
5. (dc in next 3 sts, 2dc in next st) repeat around (30)
6. (dc in next 4 sts, 2dc in next st) repeat around (36)
7. Dc into each st (36)
8. (dc in next 5 sts, 2dc in next st) repeat around (42)
9-13. Dc into each st (42)
14. (dc in 5 sts, dc2tog) repeat around (36)
15-17. dc in each st (36)
18. (dc in 4 sts, dc2tog) repeat around (30)
19-22. Dc in each st (30)
23. (dc in 3 sts, dc2tog) repeat around (24)
24-26. dc in each st (24) FO leaving a long tail for sewing head
onto the body and stuff. Sew the head onto the body before
sewing the legs on.

Legs (make 4)
Using white yarn make a magic circle
1. 5dc into magic circle (5)
2. 2dc in each st (10)
3. Dc into each st (10)
4. (dc in next st, 2dc into next st) (15)
Change to pink yarn
5-16. dc in each sts (10) FO, stuff and thread tail through
remaining stitches to close. Legs are sewn onto the sides of the
body.

Tail
Using white yarn make a magic circle
1. 4dc in circle (4)
2. dc into each st (4)
3. (dc in next st, 2dc into next st) repeat around (6)
4. 2dc into each st (12)
Change to pink yarn
5-18. Dc in each st (12) FO, stuff and leave a long tail for
sewing onto body.

Sewing together
Ensure you read all instructions for sewing. Each part should be
sewn on as instructed in each part – When sewing parts onto
head, sew the eyes on first and then the top and bottom snout.
Use a small amount of brown yarn for the nostrils. Sew ears
onto each side of the head. The head should be sewn onto the
body before the legs so the positioning is right. Sew each leg
onto the sides of body. Sew the tail onto the back bottom of the
body. Your Slowpoke is now finished. Hope you enjoyed my
