Subject: Letter of Intent for On-the Job Training/Internship
To fulfill one of the academic requirements for this semester, I am writing this letter to express
my interest in applying for the internship program at the Department of Environment and Natural
Resources (DENR), as advertised by the Department of Natural Sciences. I believe that with my
academic background and experience in the laboratory, I am ready to be exposed to an actual
work setting to further enhance my skills and practical knowledge.
Currently, I am a 3rd year student at Liceo de Cagayan University undertaking a degree in
Bachelor of Science in Biology. As a biology student, I have studied in various science fields
relevant to my course which includes zoology, botany, biochemistry, genetics, and systematics. I
have consistently excelled in the subjects I’ve taken thus far which signifies my passion for
learning and commitment to academics. Furthermore, I have also developed my laboratory skills
with experience from hands-on laboratory activities and experiments that I’ve performed all
throughout the years studying in this course. I have also built-up other relevant skills such as
communication skills and leadership skills as I have worked in organizations and with other
students in the university.
With this background, I believe that I am ready to take on the next step and become immersed in
a true working environment. This internship program will give me the opportunity to develop
and mature as an individual thereby developing my sense of professionalism and work ethic.
Thus, I am very eager to learn more and improve myself holistically through this opportunity.
