Step by Step of LSMW process in SAP S4Hana 2022
LSMW –Legacy System Migration Workbench can be functioned in ECC and S4Hana both with similar
steps.
It is used to upload master data, transaction data, mass creation and Mass change.
Let’s start:
T-code to perform LSMW – LSMW
Create a project: Fill all details based on project and execute for next step.
1) Define Object Attribute – Screen will be in display mode by default and needs to change to edit mode
in every step of LSMW.
Click on display <-> Change and select radio button Batch Input Recording and click on mountain icon to
record it.
Functional consultant will mostly use batch Input Recording to record the steps of master data.
Provide a name to the recording.
And enter T-code of the master data to be created. Now create one master data (profit center) so that system will
record steps of creation.
Once one master record creation is done, Save and click default all. Screen will appear like this.
Create a template with the help of below information.
Now save the data and come back two steps. Click on Batch Input recording empty box, a naming convention
of this recording will appear.
2) Define Source Structure - Create a structure. Fill details, Name should start from Z. save and exit.
3) Define Source Fields – Click on table maintenance icon and fill details with the help of prepared excel
sheet, save and exit.
4) Define Structure Relations – To connect previous two steps we come to this step and simply save
without doing anything.
5) Define Field Mapping and Conversion Rules – Go to extras and select auto-field mapping and keep
pressing enter.
6) Define Fixed Values, Translations, User-Defined Routines – Normally this step is not used in LSMW
until any Fixed Value is used.
7) Specify File – Click On the PC (Frontend) and upload .TXT file (attached)
8) Assign Files – Just save and exit
9) Read Data – System will read the total data
10) Display Read Data – System will display the entire data.
11) Convert Data– This will show the number of records. Cross verify and exit.
12) Display Converted Data – This will display converted data. Check and exit.
13) Create Batch Input Session – System will ask if batch input folder required to keep all transaction.
Tick mark yes, and execute.
14) Run Batch Input Session – Select session and execute. Master data is created by LSMW.
