Equations and basics

Systems of linear Equations:

Using system of equations to find coefficients and constants
If 𝑎𝑥 + 𝑏 = 2𝑥 + 3 𝑜𝑟 𝑦 = 𝑎𝑥 + 𝑏

& 𝑦 = 2𝑥 + 3
 In case they have infinitely many solutions:

Then 𝑎=2 & 𝑏=3

 In case of no solution :
𝑎=2 & 𝑏≠3
 In case of one solution :
𝑎≠2 & 𝑏≠3

In case of 𝑎1 𝑥 + 𝑏1 𝑦 = 𝑐1 & 𝑎2 𝑥 + 𝑏2 𝑦 = 𝑐2

𝑎1 𝑏 𝑐
 If = 𝑏1 = 𝑐1 “infinitely many solutions”
𝑎2 2 2
𝑎1 𝑏1 𝑐1
 If = ≠ “no solution”
𝑎2 𝑏2 𝑐2
𝑎1 𝑏1 𝑐1 𝑎1 𝑏 𝑐
 If ≠ = or If ≠ 𝑏1 ≠ 𝑐1 “one solution”
𝑎2 𝑏2 𝑐2 𝑎2 2 2
