How can I use this with my children?

Print and cut out the templates for your

Parent Guide
child to make their own unicorn-themed
party bag. Alternatively, print and cut out
the pieces to make a unique unicorn collage.

How does this help my children’s learning?

Using scissors to cut out shapes can help

children’s dexterity and hand strength.
Arranging and ordering the shapes can
encourage creativity and organisation.

Ideas for further learning:

Why not encourage your child to draw and

cut out their own templates to create a
unicorn collage? Use multiple shapes to
create repeating and unique patterns.
Make Your Own Unicorn Party Bags
Equipment:
• plain paper bags
• card (range of colours)
• scissors
• glue
• pens
• unicorn templates

Party Suggestions
At the party, the children could collect a party bag and build their own
unicorn from the cut outs.
Why not print out a number of blank template shapes for the children to
colour in themselves at the party?

Method

1. Print the unicorn templates out onto coloured paper or use as a template
on card to draw around and cut out a range of different colours.
2. Arrange the pieces to create a unicorn design on the paper bag.
3. Glue or tape the pieces in position.
4. Use a pen to add further features.
5. Stick on googly eyes, or other accessories, if desired.
