Title of the Activity: Research Problem

Learning Target: Identify the sources of research topic; Propose and justify why these
topics should be investigated
Reference: Caintic, H. (2021). Scientific research handbook. C & E Publishing, Inc.
Concept Note: A research problem should possess four essential characteristics:
relevant, feasible, clear and ethical (Fraenkel & Wallen, 1996).
Type of Activity: (Please select ‘others’) – Mini Performance Task

Performance Scenario: As a researcher, it is our obligation to be more mindful in

dealing with all issues and concerns we are facing in our community. Since in your
young age, your actions are only limited on how to serve the community in improving all
these concerns. On this part, you are advised to think a focused topic that could serve
as your research problem. This problem will serve as your guide on how to help the
community following the principle of a better research problem stated by Fraenkel and
Wallen (1996). The approved problem will be the focus of your entire investigation and
will present in the near future via virtual oral defense or defending on the schedule of
limited face to face when manuscript is fully accomplished. Your output will be graded
based on: Research statement, topic sentences, organization, support, and command
of expression (see full explanation of rubric below).

Vegetable Battery/ Vegetable Relevant: Many people may think it's amazing that a simple piece
with high source of with high of produce can conduct electricity. As it turns out, that's not the
level of electricity level of whole story. There are many types of electrical conductors. These
potassium or include traditional electrical conductors, such as the copper and
potassium
sodium used silver wires that are used to run electrical currents in homes and
or sodium as a buildings, and ionic conductors, which can power electricity via
battery/sourc free moving ions. Organic material, such as human tissue or the
e of potato in your science experiment, are ionic conductors that
electricity create ionic circuits. Electrolytes chemical compounds that create
ions when they are dissolved in water, in these materials do all
the work.

Feasible: Some fruits and vegetables may be chock-full of

superconductive ions, but you'll need a few more materials to turn
these foods into batteries. The voltage from the battery comes
from electrodes made of two different metals, such as copper and
zinc, Hickner said. You can easily make a potato or pickle battery
using a copper penny and a galvanized nail (which is usually
made of iron coated with zinc)."The fruit or vegetable can't
conduct on its own. It needs something to drive the ions,"
Takhistov said. "When you insert two different metals and connect
them with wire, you create an electrical circuit. Then, when this
material is brought in contact with the electrolytes, the battery
reaction starts to generate the voltage.

Clear: It is clear because we can use it as an alternative way to

get electricity and we can use some vegetable as a source of
electricity.

Ethical: Even though it will cause many vegetables. We can use

those vegetable that are over ripe so that we can use less
vegetable. This alternative way can lessen the use of fossil fuel
which is the cause of the climate change.

Aloe Vera Mouthwash Aloe Vera as Relevant:
an Mouthwashes or mouth fresheners are anti-bacterial alternatives
alternative for people to maintain good oral hygiene. Furthermore, there is
mouthwash acceptable evidence to support the hypothesis that the use of
alcohol-containing mouthwashes is expanding or helps. However
some people keep themselves from using mouthwashes because
of harmful elements it contains such as the amount of alcohol it i
mixed with. Some people, however, simply want a low-cost
option, just like our research topic aloe vera as an alternative
mouthwash.

Feasible:
Given the minimal work required to maintain them, most plants
can be simply planted by anybody. Most specifically indoor plants
these kinds of plants may help reduce stress, increase creativity,
productivity, and concentration, and promote healing. They
simply need a small bit of light and water to survive. People,
especially those who enjoy gardening, may readily get aloe veras
since they are a low-maintenance succulent that thrives as an
indoor plant. The plant's large, thick, blue-green leaves, according
to Masterclass, are not only attractive but also offer therapeutic
effects. Keeping indoor aloe vera plants is like cultivating a
component of your own DIY first aid kit because the gel from aloe
vera leaves is a well-known treatment for sunburns and cold
sores. Therefore, as stated by Grant, in order to pick a large,
smooth, thick leaf, cut it as near to the trunk as you possibly can
with a clean, sharp knife. The best approach to harvest aloe vera
leaves is with a knife as hand plucking the plant and leaf may
result in tissue damage. Cronkleton followed, claiming that after
removing the aloe from the outer leaf portion, you may put the
aloe into a blender and then sieve the mixture to get smooth aloe
gel.

Clear:
The details provided on Aloe Vera and its potential efficacy as
mouthwash for individuals who are cautious and seek a budget-
friendly option were clear and precise. The availability of the
Alove Vera encourages its potential for implementation for it
leads to a distinct goal.
Ethical:
No one will be harmed by this study. Aloe Vera works just as wel
as chlorhexidine at preventing plaque and gingivitis. Why not use
Aloe Vera and water instead of mixing chemicals with other
chemicals? This would not only benefit the environment but also
lessen the usage of chemicals in antibacterial products.

Black Rice Caffeine Black Rice as Relevant:
an alternative More than 50% of American adults drink coffee every day,
caffeine meaning that at least half of us rely on caffeine to give us
our daily boost. However, although some caffeine
consumption is high, many people also struggle with
caffeine sensitivity, which manifests in symptoms such as
heart palpitations and jitters, which can be concerning to
experience. In this research we will make caffeine healthy
through black rice since rice coffee has absolutely no
caffeine, it won’t leave you wide awake at night.

Feasible:
Black rice contains the antioxidants lutein and zeaxanthin,
both of which have been shown to protect your retina from
potentially damaging free radicals. While anthocyanins may
also protect eye health, research in humans is currently
lacking. Compared with other types of rice, black rice is one
of the highest in protein. You can easily roast rice grains in
your very own kitchen. There is really no need for you to
get your hands on some expensive special tools as all you
will need for the job is a flat-bottomed frying pan and a
stove. Rice coffee is getting more and more popular
because of the various health perks it offers.

Clear:
It is clear because do you often end up with heart
palpitations, lightheadedness, dizziness, nausea and anxiety
after having a cup of coffee? Consider switching to rice
coffee because it contains no caffeine. Some researcher
shows that black rice contains over 23 types of antioxidants
and has the highest antioxidant activity of all rice varieties.

Ethical:
No one will be harmed by this study because every cup of
rice coffee supplies your body with antioxidants, and
antioxidants are known to offer a lot of perks, from slowing
down aging, reducing inflammation to warding off cancer. It
will helps people to prevent diseases.
