The Argentine government requested World Bank support for its science, technology, and
innovation (STI) policy agenda, particularly the promotion of a new knowledge economy to diversify
and strengthen sources of growth for the Argentine economy.The approach included support for (1)
new technology-based companies, (2) results-oriented public-private research consortia, (3)
knowledge-based small and medium innovation-based enterprise projects, (4) skills and business
capability development for tech absorption and transfer, (5) upgraded public research
infrastructure, and (6) an improved enabling business environment.At the Transforming Education
Summit (TES) where 163 countries united to revolutionize their education systems, Argentina stood
firm in its commitment to drive positive change in its education landscape. Recognizing the
significance of tangible steps, Argentina aimed to enhance the lives of its citizens through
education.
