Introduction:
Nanotechnology is the current researchable issue in the world for its reliable results of higher input use
efficiency, higher production potential, ecologically friendly, and economical affordability (Mallikarjuna
et al.,2023). Nitrogen is essential for crop growth, but improper application methods lead to pollution and
increased production costs. Nano urea fertilizers offer a sustainable solution in this aspect.Nano urea
fertilizer known as nanoscale urea or nanotechnology-based urea is a type of urea fertilizer that has been
processed and engineered at the nanoscale level. Nano urea is an ultra-fine nitrogen-containing liquid
fertilizer with a higher surface area. Nano nutrients due to their minute size have various advantages in
agricultural production due to higher retention on the surface area of the leaf (Midde et al., 2022; Chandana
et al., 2022) Nano urea enhances rice production through improved nutrient efficiency and controlled-
release properties, leading to increased yields and sustainable nutrient uptake. Again, prills /granular urea
are not only costly for the producer but may be harmful to humans and the environment. Furthermore, nano
urea may also be used for enhancing abiotic stress tolerance (Baboo et al.,2021). Nano urea offers economic
advantages for rice farmers through improved nutrient efficiency, leading to higher yields and lower
fertilizer input costs, thereby enhancing profitability and sustainability in rice farming. This study aims to
evaluate the impact of nano urea fertilizers on rice growth and yield in aman rice cultivation, comparing it
with conventional urea fertilizer to assess its potential advantages.
