I. Introduction

One of the greatest opportunities a school can give to children is to provide

them a chance to be happy and to give them a positive self-concept and self-
image. A smile is a clear indication of contentment and a positive outlook on life.
Happier children learn more quickly and think more imaginatively.

CPPI and the Department under the Bureau of Learners Support Services
and Adopt-A-School Program, initiated Bright Smiles, Bright Futures Program
which they have provided our school 87 colgate toothbrushes, toothpastes and
some oral health educational posters to kindergarten pupils. We are truly grateful
and thankful that we are one of the recipients of this program.

The participating pupils received the dental hygiene kits with bright smiles
and grateful hearts through this program they are given a chance to have
healthier teeth, brighter smiles, happier hearts and more positive disposition as
they reach their dreams and aspirations.

II. Objectives
a. Be able to distribute equally all the dental hygiene kits to kindergarten
pupils
b. Be able to conduct toothbrushing activities in school
c. Be able to educate learners on proper dental hygiene

III. Activities Undertaken

As the classroom can be considered as second home of the children, the
role of the teachers not only to educate learners but as second parent we
teachers must build a good dental hygiene of our pupils.

Upon the distribution of the dental hygiene kits, the kindergarten teacher
gathered all the morning and afternoon pupils for them be able to receive the
dental hygiene kit. The pupils will not just receive dental hygiene kits but at the
same time the teacher provided oral health education, wherein one of the
activities that was taught to the children is to brush their teeth after eating their
snacks during recess period using the toothpastes and toothbrushes that is
provided by the BSBFP, this will probably help pupils to build a good dental habit
while growing up. One of the most important things you can do for your teeth
and gums is to maintain regular oral hygiene. In addition to making, you feel and
look good, having healthy teeth allows you to speak and eat normally.

IV. Conclusion:
The distribution of dental hygiene kit brought a beautiful smile to the
kinder pupils and as well as the school and parents wherein they had received
free dental hygiene kits for free, seeing the kids smiling is an evident picture of
happiness..

V. Recommendation:
I guess one thing that I could recommend is if it is possible to provide all the
learners with dental hygiene kit, not just only for kindergarten pupils specially to
some schools where most of the learners can’t even afford to buy and provide
their dental hygiene kit.
