ASSESSMENTS NO. 2

1. What is mental health? Why does it matter to advocate and address mental
health issues?

Mental Health refers to our overall well-being such as our emotional,

psychological, and social. Many factors influence our thinking, our feelings, and
the way we behave and interact with our peers, friends, family, and
acquaintances. This factor is leading to more serious mental health issues, and
mostly it develops in teenagers. As the teenagers are transitioning to many
things like in school in their development and social factors like bullying and body
image as well as their family affair in their house and financial capabilities.
Adolescents are prone to suicide, and it should end right now. It just started
stress to anxiety and leads us to many more mental health problems. We should
know that caring about other feelings can help them to ease the pain they have
been through, mental health is a serious issue.

Mental health awareness advocates ending the stigma and misconception of

those people who suffering from mental health issues and let us seek help and to
find their support in fighting their mental health conditions. This is no joke and
addressing mental health issues right is also a big help in our society. Having a
mental health awareness is a big help in people to recognize what are the
impacts of having mental health issue to someone and it help us to educate
when we encounter people and when we are experiencing this kind of mental
health issues. We should end the stigma about mental health issues. Everything
matter when we advocate and address mental health issues as the rate of
experiencing it is fluctuating, it is not health for us.

2. Ask someone to share a story, experience, or circumstance in his/ her life. It

can be about his/her family, studies, friends, or self. Afterwards, answer the
following questions.
a. How do you feel about the story you just heard? What was your first
reaction? How about as the story unfolded?

The first time I heard him saying things and opening up to me, I felt relief
because I am entrusted with his feelings about the things, he shared to me. His
complicated story taught me that life would be easier when you have someone
who can lean on, someone who can share with. And as the story goes on the
tone of his voice saying to me from pain it became a soft sound as he is getting
along with our conversation. He feels safe talking about his life to me.

b. What were your thoughts regarding the signs and symptoms of this mental

In this generation, even though we are now open with these mental
health issues the signs and symptoms of mental health issue is not well
addressed. Because still many people have misconception about this like
sometimes people tend to think it is nothing or mind created things, and
people don’t take it seriously. So far I am blessed I am surrounded by people
