THE THIRSTY CROW

Leave a Comment / Story

Once upon a time, in a forest near a small village, there lived a clever crow.
One hot summer day, while searching for food, the crow flew far and felt very
thirsty. The crow searched for water resources around the forest. Sadly, the
crow couldn’t find any ponds or rivers nearby. The crow flew towards the
village with the hope of getting some water. Luckily, the crow spotted a pot
near a house in the village.

The crow eagerly flew down towards the pot, hoping to quench its thirst with
water in the pot. But to his dismay, the thirsty crow saw that the water level in
the pot was too low for it to reach. Feeling disappointed, the crow sat on the
pot, wondering what to do.
After a moment of thought, the crow noticed some small pebbles nearby. An
idea struck it’s mind! The crow quickly flew down towards the pebbles on the
ground, picked up a pebble with its beak, and flew back to the pot.
The crow gently dropped the pebbles into the pot. The pebble fell into the
pot, causing a small splash in the water. Though the crow felt weaker and
thirstier with each trip, it didn’t give up. It tirelessly continued its task, picking
up hundreds of pebbles one by one and dropping them into the pot. With
each pebble, the water level in the pot slowly rose.
Finally, after many efforts, the water level reached the rim of the pot. The
crow joyfully dipped its beak into the water and drank until it was no longer
thirsty.
Feeling refreshed and happy, the crow flew away contentedly, feeling
grateful for its persistent efforts and clever thinking.
