Career Services

At JIMS, we understand that a successful academic journey extends far beyond textbooks and
exams. Recognizing the importance of individual growth and career preparedness, we have
implemented a comprehensive Career Services program focused on individualized mentoring.
This multi-faceted approach equips students with the necessary tools and guidance to navigate
academic and professional challenges with confidence.

One-on-One Mentoring: Each student at JIMS is assigned three mentors Faculty mentors,
CRMC Mentor and corporate mentors, each offering unique perspectives and areas of expertise:

 Faculty Mentors: Acting as academic guides, faculty mentors provide valuable insights
into chosen fields of study.
 CRMC Mentors: Relationship Managers (RMs) from the Career Relations &
Management Center (CRMC) each have been assigned one section each to act as
mentors.
 Corporate Mentors: Assigned by companies during the internship period, corporate
mentors provide real-world insights and offer guidance on specific industry practices.

Our career services program empowers our students to navigate the recruitment process with
confidence:

1. Specialization Selection: We provide personalized counseling sessions to help students

identify their interests, assess their skillsets, and explore the job market trends within
different specialization options. Through in-depth discussions, we empower students to make
informed decisions that align with their long-term goals.
2. Building Impressive Resumes- Resume vetting goes beyond a simple format check. We
provide detailed feedback, ensuring students effectively showcase their skills and experiences
in clear, concise language. This includes eliminating inconsistencies and verifying that CVs
reflect the most up-to-date information.
3. Mastering the Interview: Mock interviews are conducted by experienced training officers
and simulate real-world scenarios. We offer two distinct types:

 Basic HR Hygiene Interviews: These assess soft skills and general abilities, helping
students build confidence in their interpersonal communication, body language, and
professionalism.
 Company-Specific JD-Based Interviews: Tailored to specific job descriptions, these
mock interviews equip students with in-depth knowledge about the company, its
operations, and the targeted role. We also guide them on crafting compelling responses to
frequently asked interview questions.

4. Bridging the Gap Between Theory and Practice: Regular technical and non-technical
training sessions are a cornerstone of our program. We leverage partnerships with alumni and
industry experts to ensure students stay current on both technical skills relevant to their
chosen fields and the evolving dynamics of the recruitment process.
5. Mock Group Discussions: Mock Group Discussions provide students with a platform to
hone essential group behavior skills. We emphasize maintaining decorum while fostering
engaging discussions, allowing participants to showcase their leadership potential, ability to
work in teams, and critical thinking abilities.

6. Sharpening Aptitude: Regular mock aptitude tests, integrated into the course curriculum,
prepare students to excel in these crucial entrance examinations often used by companies
during the initial screening stages.
