PS: The learner skillfully delivers a speech for a special occasion through utilizing
effective verbal and non-verbal strategies and ICT resources.
I. Objectives
At the end of the 60-minute period, the learners should be able to:
1. analyze the elements of the story.
2. relate the events of the story to one’s personal life.
3. write a critique of the story “A Grain as Big as a Hen’s Egg”
III. Procedure
A. ACTIVITIES
Drill
The teacher will let the learners play a word search game. In this game,
the learners will locate the given words in the grid either vertically, horizontally
or diagonally. The teacher will provide a list of words for the learners to look for.

Motivation
The teacher will let the learners read the given situations and find the meaning
of the underlined word by matching Column A to Column B. The learners will
write the letter of the correct answer before the number in the provided answer
sheet.

The learners will read the story “A Grain as Big as a Hen’s Egg” and the teacher
will discuss the elements of the story. The learners will answer the following questions:

3. What is the moral of the story?
D. APPLICATION
The teacher will divide the learners into 5 groups. Each group will be
given a task. The teacher will provide the materials for their output. Note that the
learners will be given 5 minutes to work on their task and perform it in front of
their classmates.
