Arithmetic solution
1. Ans. (B)
Radius of Semicircle = r cm
22/7 × r + 2 × r = 108
36r/7 = 108
r = 21 cm
Length of Rectangle
= 21 × 2 = 42 cm
Breadth of Rectangle = x cm
2 × (42 + x) = 4 × 33 + 8
2 × (42 + x) = 132 + 8
42 + x = 140/2 = 70
x = 28 cm
2. Ans. (B)

Area of Rectangle = 15 × 8 = 120 cm²
Diagonal of Rectangle = Hypotenuse Of Triangle
= √289 = 17
Area of Triangle = ½ × (17/√2)²
= ½ × 289/2 = 72.25 cm²
Area of Rectangle is more than Area
Of Triangle = 120 – 72.25 = 47.75 cm²

Investment of Babita = (x – 800) × 7 Rs.
Profit Ratio, Anvesha : Babita = 10500 : (18500 – 10500) = 105 : 80 = 21 : 16
9(x + 500)/7(x – 800) = 21/16
144(x + 500) = 147(x – 800)
144x + 72000 = 147x – 117600
3x = 189600
X = 63200 Rs.
23
SP = 800 – 170 = 630 Rs.
P% = (630 – 480)/480 × 100 = 31.25%
