Where existing sub-grade materials have a CBR of 5 or less, a sub-base


with a minimum CBR of 15 shall be provided with a minimum thickness of
20 cm. (CBR shall be as determined by ASTM D1883 at 95% compaction SAES-Q-006

according to ASTM D1557 or AASHTO T180.) Such subbase cannot be Sec. 4.3
considered an MOT Subbase Class A or B unless it meets the
requirements defined in Tables 4, 5 and 6.

The sub-grade shall be restored by removing all vegetation, filling all SAES-Q-006

depressions and leveling the surface. Sec. 5.1

The entire sub-grade shall be compacted to not less than 95% of the

relative density (ASTM D4253 and ASTM D4254) (for cohesionless soils).

The subgrade shall be constructed so that after being compacted it will
conform to the alignment, grade, and cross-section shown on the plans, SAES-Q-006
