AN ORDER DESIGNATING A SANGGUNIANG MEMBER AS A FOCAL PERSON IN

THE MANAGEMENT AND MAINTENANCE OF BARANGAY COMMUNITY GARDEN

WHEREAS, AmbisyonNatin 2040 states that, “By 2040, all Filipinos will have access to safe,
nutritious, and affordable food. The government will promote healthy eating habits and physical
activity, and will work to reduce the prevalence of malnutrition, including stunting, wasting, and
overweight and obesity”;

WHEREAS, DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2023-001 provides the guidelines in the
implementation of the Halina’tMagtanim ng Prutas at Gulay (HAPAG) sa Barangay Project;

WHEREAS, Barangay _______, Zone_____, District ______ of the City of Manila has a
community garden that is intended to provide fresh vegetables and fruits to the residents; and

WHEREAS, the Barangay needs a focal person to manage and maintain the community
garden;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, __________________, Punong Barangay of ________, do hereby

order as follows:

Section 1. Designation of Focal Person.

Sangguniang Member___________ is hereby designated as the focal person in the

management and maintenance of the Barangay community garden.

Section 2. Duties and Responsibilities of the Focal Person.

The focal person shall have the following duties and responsibilities:

1. Oversee the day-to-day operations of the community garden;

2. Ensure that the community garden is properly maintained;
3. Monitor the production of vegetables and fruits;
4. Coordinate with the barangay officials and staff, including the barangay nutrition scholar, in
the operation and maintenance of the community garden;
5. Keep a record of the overall operations of the community garden, such as the types of
seedlings planted, and number of vegetables and fruits harvested; and
6. Perform such other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Punong
Barangay.

Section 3. Effectivity.

This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
