It’s the Ending

I ask the butterfly where she would rest tonight.

She said in your warm presence

And to the singing hummingbird whom she was singing with

And she said it was you.

Tell me when the deer would stop running

She said when she finds you

And to the eagle how she can soar up high

She told me you are the wind beneath her wings

Tell me, love, where can I finally rest;

In your warmth and your lullaby?

Tell me how I can fly free?

“When you are not here with me.”
