Sasol Exploration and Production International (SEPI) adheres to the Sasol Engineering Specifications
(SP), which have been developed as the quality and compliance governance for all Sasol Group
installations worldwide. This allows Sasol Exploration and Production International (SEPI) the ability to
achieve a consistent and controlled standard throughout the organisation. It is accepted that due to
climatic and environmental conditions some specifications need to be adapted to suit individual facilities.
This document will identify addenda to Sasol Engineering Specifications (SP) that are specific to Sasol
Petroleum Temane (SPT) Central Processing Facility (CPF).

SP30-02 REV 4 DESIGN SPECIFICATION FOR BUILDINGS
4.2 LPC-TQ-086
The purpose of this specification is to create a live document to govern any conflict between
specifications used within Sasol Exploration and Production International (SEPI) and Sasol Petroleum
Temane (SPT) Central Processing Facility (CPF). The objective is to provide a cost effective and safe
means of controlling the quantity of re-occurring Technical Queries (TQ) and Concessions that have
previously been approved on other Sasol Petroleum Temane (SPT) Central Processing Facility (CPF)
projects, and have proved beneficial.
No addenda shall reduce the integrity of the Sasol Petroleum Temane (SPT) Central Processing Facility
(CPF).
As a Technical Query (TQ) or a Concession is not transferrable from project to project, all re-occurring
Technical Queries (TQ) and Concessions raised at Sasol Petroleum Temane that have been proven to
enhance the facility have been included in this specification, notwithstanding any additional Technical
Queries (TQ) or Concessions with similar consequences may be included at the discretion of Sasol
Exploration and Production International (SEPI) and Sasol Petroleum Temane (SPT) Central Processing
Facility (CPF) subject to approval via the internal adjudication process.
For all forthcoming projects undertaken at Sasol Petroleum Temane (SPT) Central Processing Facility
(CPF) this Addenda shall take precedence over Sasol Petroleum Temane (SPT) Central Processing
Facility (CPF) Specifications and Sasol Engineering Specifications (SP). This document shall be
referenced in all subsequent Engineering Procurement Construction and Management Consultant Scope
of Service documents.
This document shall not take precedence over Mozambique Legislation, Occupational Health and Safety
Act, 1993, South African National Standards (SANS) or International Codes and Standards.

Green is the basic colour for designating safety and shall be used for identifying and indicating the
location of safety and first aid equipment. First aid boxes shall be indicated as per SABS 0140 colour
code. Diagonal green and white stripes may be used.
Obstruction hazards shall be identified in a chevron pattern by means of diagonal black stripes on a
yellow background. Two coats of silicone acrylic paint (F-2) shall be used for this purpose.
Noise areas shall be identified by means of a safety sign instructing the wearing of ear protectors,
erected at all entrances. For further identification (although not enforced) these areas shall be
demarcated, where practical, by means of a yellow line 150 mm wide around the noise area. Two coats
of polyurethane paint (F-8) shall be used.

areas may also be identified by a 150 mm wide yellow line. Two coats of polyurethane paint (F-8) shall
be used.
Should it be necessary to demarcate “no smoking” areas by means of lines painted on floor surfaces, this
shall be done by means of a yellow line 150 mm wide. Two coats of polyurethane paint (F-8) shall be
used.
Sewer manholes and catch basins shall be uniformly colour coded and identified as follows:
i) The identification shall be located on the manhole concrete casing;
ii) Polyurethane paint (F-8) shall be applied to a clean, dry surface;
iii) Identification shall be applied with a Golden Yellow (BS 381C Reference number 356)
background with Black Night (BS 381C Reference number 642) lettering. The yellow background shall be

The equipment numbers and an abbreviated, but clear description of the equipment shall be painted with
black letters on a yellow background. Letters shall not be smaller than 50 mm and should preferably be
75 mm high. Polyurethane paint (F-8) shall be used for this purpose.

During the Detailed Design and Construction Phases of projects, there will be circumstances where
concessions or deviations to the original contractual requirements or Sasol Specifications will be
necessary. All deviations and concessions shall be carried out in accordance to Sasol SP-90-39 Change
Management Deviations & Concessions. Sasol Exploration and Production International Control of

of the EPCm Consultant, the AIA and the Integrated Project Management Team with Sasol SP-90-39
Change Management Deviations & Concessions.
The objective of SEPI Control of Concessions procedure is to align the roles and responsibilities of the
subcontractor (where applicable), the EPCm Consultant, the AIA, the IPMT and the designated
signatories, in order to comply with SASOL Quality Management System and Sasol SP-90-39 Change
Management Deviations & Concessions and QMS 010P Concessions Management. Therefore, for
guidance, this procedure should be read in conjunction with Sasol SP-90-39 Change Management
Deviations & Concessions and QMS 010P Concessions Management.
Final approval of all concessions raised during the project can only be granted by SASOL.
A concession shall only be considered closed if approval has been obtained from SASOL and all the
conditions affecting approval have been verified by the EPCm Consultant and the AIA.
The EPCm Consultant shall include all closed out concessions as part of the End of Job Documentation.
Over and above this requirement, a concessions file containing the concessions register and copies of all
concessions shall be complied and handed over to Sasol as part of the End of Job documentation. In the
case of pressure vessels it shall also be included in the Code Data Book.
