Residence for an artistic family.

The house's exterior and interiors
A home. are rendered in earthly tones of
grey and beige.
Tiled flooring grazes both floors.
The variance in interior wall
colours balances the dull and
bright shades in the house,

It's only fitting for an artisitc family to reside in an aesthetic home.
The house comes to life with the central tree topped with an
ovulated skylight and various large windows .
With unique art interiors in almost every wall, the residence is an
interesting and a comfort suite for the family of four.
The subtlety in use of colours and ornamentation around the
residence is a feast to one's eye. Small pints of faded brick red and
rich blue shades are combined in walls and flooring.
The exterior facades on all sides are painted in slate gray and tan
tints.

jumping through the play hives
KINDERGARTEN
climbing up and down the rainbow stairs
zooooming past the corridors
sliding down the orange swirly,
giving the teachers' a fright.

A day in the life of a kindergartener Green park - The name originates

from the earthen shades and the
use of wood in the design.
I've envisioned this kindergarten as
an environment for learning and
fun coexist.
The interiors are designed to allow
an Open School system.

Concpet: Flexibility
The main focus here was to create flexible, exciting spaces intriguing to the
children. The spaces are designed in a way that allows children to roam

spots in the kindergarten are kept to a very minimum.

The class room seating arrangements go with
the idea of freedom. Each classroom has 3
reading / leisure cubicles. the colours of the
cubicle are painted in alternative shades of
sage green and olve green.

A peek into the classrooms and activity

rooms. Based on the idea of Flexibility, the
classrooms open into the activity lounges
and eating areas with sliding doors. the
rooms can be expanded nd extended based
on the children's preferences
Tiny libray / Crawl block
The wooden blocks in the activity lounge serve to
prime funtions : storebooks on the exteriors -
creating a small 3 - stepped library. On the inside
they are hollow spaces that create crawl blocks
for the kids, with an entrance to the eating area.

Tamil Nadu. 603103.
SITE AREA : 9996.44 sq.m
SET BACK : Minimum of 7 m on all sides
OPEN SPACE RESERVATION ( OSR ) :

WIDTH OF ACCESS ROAD : 18 m
SITE PLAN
is a 60 m x 60 m cubical glass structure that
encases 10 floors.
The structural support is provided from 14
tubular colums that threads through the
entirety of the building.
On each floor these columns are held in place
by ribbed metal slabs. This is an experimental
design approach based on the concepts of
BIOMIMICRY. The structural system of my
design was influeced by the architect TOYO
ITO and Le Corbusier's theory on Fluidity.

COMPONENTS OF THE BUILDING
SKIN

SKIN : THE GLAZED FACADE that encases the
building. the glass frames on all four sides of the
built envelope form some what of a cubical
structure - similar to a glass box, this skin is the
PLATE regular uniform structure in the design.
PLATES: 9 prefabricated steel ribbed slabs
create the FLOORS. On each floor, the tubes
rising from below are welded to the plates.
TUBE the tubues travel through circular opening int

MATERIAL HAS BEEN KNOWN FOR ITS VERSATALITY.THE ORIGINS OF THIS
LOVELY FLOORING FINISH GO AS FAR BACK TO VENICE, ITALY OF THE
1400S. TERRAZZO WAS A POPULAR TREND IN INDIAN HOMES OF THE 70S
AND 80S, AND THE POPULARITY OF TERRAZZO IS AGAIN ON THE RISE.
