Get a resident visa at least 2 years before you apply for permanent residency:
Must have lived in New Zealand under visa for 2 years
Must have fulfilled the applicable conditions of your resident visa
Things to note while applying for PR:
1. At the time you apply you must be working for, or have a job offer from,
an employer.
2. Your employment must be permanent and full-time (at least 30 hours a
week), or fixed-term for at least 12 months.
The process:
2nd Stage: Job Offer Letter from Accredited Employer As part of the application
process you are required to submit your passport, proof of New Zealand Nurses
Registration, proof of original nursing qualification (e.g. Diploma or Degree Certificate)
Visa costs vary in New Zealand, depending on your citizenship and the country from
where you are applying.
3rd Stage: Work permit After the aforementioned process, the job offer will be
verified and a Work to Residence permit will be issued as per the guidelines from
INZ (Immigration New Zealand)
4th Stage: Verification & Medicals You have to apply for verification and medicals
once you receive a Work permit. The faster you do it, along with the document
submission the faster the Work to Residence visa decision comes your way.
5th stage: Visa Approval After submitting the required documents, INZ does
thorough research on them. If found satisfactory, your visa will be granted
6th Stage: Departure to New Zealand
