Write about causes of soil pollution (150-200 words)

In recent decades, soil pollution is one of the most important environmetal problems that is endengering
the Earth. There are a number of reasons why soil is getting pollute than ever before. Firstly, waste
contains many toxic substances, when waste is put into the environment and not treated scientifically,
the toxins that enter the soil will destroy many beneficial organisms for the soil, causing harm to the
environment. Hanoi currently has increasingly polluted soil environmental quality. The reason is that the
land is affected by waste from industrial and urbanization activities, construction, daily activities and
landfills. In particular, there is widespread use of plastic bags in daily activities, which take 50-60 years to
decompose in the soil. Therefore, they limit the process of decomposition, causing soil fertility to
decrease. Similarly, chemical substances like pesticides and fertilisers that are used in agriculture to
increase crop yield also pollute the soil. These chemicals make their way into the deeper layers of the
soil and lead to the land become discolored, hardened and ruduce pH in the soil. Last but not least, one
more source of pollution is deforestation. The roots of plants hold the soil in place and prevent it from
being carried away. Deforestation amounts to removal of the vegetative cover. The soil, without a cover
of trees and plants, is likely to be removed quickly and contributes to soil ersion. To sum up, although the
precise root causes can differ, barbage throwing, chemical substances and deforestation are major
factors.
