Now let’s study the different types of
adverbs. There are five types of adverbs:
Adverb of Time, Adverb of Place,
Adverb of Manner, Adverb of Frequency
and Adverb of Degree.

The first one is Adverb of Time. It


answers the question “WHEN”. Here are
some examples: later, yesterday,
tomorrow, soon, since, etc.
Example of Adverb of time used in a
sentence.
The guest arrived yesterday.

Second is, Adverb of Place. It answers


the question “WHERE”. For example,
here, everywhere, anywhere.
Example of Adverbs of place used in a
sentence.
Daisies grow everywhere.

Adverb of Manner
-it answers the question “HOW”
Examples: Swiftly, slowly, bravely.
Example of Adverb of Manner used in a
sentence.
The Lion crawled slowly.

Adverb of Frequency
-it answers the question “HOW
OFTEN”. For example, rarely,
occasionally, never.

Example of Adverb of Frequency used in


a sentence.
He is rarely home.

The last one is the Adverb of Degree


-it answers the question “HOW MUCH”.
Often used as an intensifier to describe
adjectives or other adverbs.
For example: Farthest, extremely, very,
too, enough.

Example of Adverb of Degree in a


sentence:
You are running fast enough.

of our discussion. As a recap an adverb
is a word that modifies verb, an
adjective or another adverb. Adverb of Time, Adverb of Place, Adverb of
Manner, Adverb of Frequency and Adverb of
