Exposed finished and machined surfaces, including bolting, shall be given a coating of rust Inhibiting compound. Other references of materials, manufacturers or suppliers are acceptable after the approval of the COMPANY for the proposed application. Colours and finishing tints are generally not specified in this document. When necessary, manufacturer's standard colour palette shall be provided by CONTRACTOR for the choice/approval of the COMPANY. Floor panels, stringer and pedestal testing shall be conducted in accordance with CISCA. 40.9 CLEANING AND PROTECTION The space below the completed floor shall be free of all debris, Before any traffic or other work on the completed access floor is started, the completed floor shall be cleaned in accordance with the floor veering manufacturer's instructions. Traffic areas of clean floors shall be protected with a covering of building paper, fibreboard, or other suitable material to prevent damage to the surface. Cut-outs shall be covered with material of sufficient strength to support the loads to be encountered, Plywood or similar material shall be placed on the floor to serve as runways for installation of heavy equipment. Protection shall be maintained until the access floor system is accepted and turned over to the COMPANY. 10.10 FIRE SAFETY DETECTION SYSTEM ‘An automatic detection system shall be installed below the access floor meeting the requirements of NFPA 75 and shall have an audible and visual alarm. Air space below the access floor shall be subdivided into areas not exceeding 925 square meters by tight, non- combustible bulkheads. All penetrations for piping and cables shall be sealed to maintain bulkhead properties.
