PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
1. The extent of pantry appliance work is indicated on the drawings and in the
Equipment Schedules.
B. Scope Includes:
C. The Owner requires the Contractor to implement practices and procedures to meet the
project's environmental performance goals, which include compliance with the
requirements determined by the Sustainability Consultant’s design documentation
(LEED & WELL), and applicable local authority Green Building Regulation. Specific
project goals that may impact this area of work include, but are not limited to: reduced
impact of construction activities, construction waste recycling, reduction of water and
energy usage, adequate protection for storing materials, use of recycled-content
materials, use of locally manufactured materials, use of low-emitting materials, use of
materials having EPD's, and avoid use of restricted materials. The Contractor shall
ensure that the requirements related to these goals, as defined in individual
specification sections are implemented to the fullest extent. Substitutions, or other
changes to the work proposed by the Contractor or their Subcontractors, shall not be
allowed if such changes compromise the aforementioned environmental goals and
Green Building Regulation compliance.
1. Contractor shall, at all times undertake to ensure that all targeted goals are
achieved. As and when any risks arise that could compromise the achievement of
one or more of the targeted goals, the Contractor shall bring these to the attention
of the Employer's Representative immediately.

A. Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals: Include component list with the
manufacturer’s reference numbers, descriptions of materials and procedures
forrepairing and cleaning of finishes, and cleaning frequency.
A. UL and NEMA Compliance: Provide electrical appliances that are listed and labeled
by UL and that comply with applicable NEMA standards.

3.1 EXAMINATION
A. Examine roughing-in for plumbing, mechanical, and electrical services, to verify actual
locations of services before equipment installation.
B. Proceed with installation only after unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.

3.2 INSTALLATION
C. Freestanding Appliances: Place in final locations after finishes have been completed in
each area. Verify that clearances are adequate to properly operate equipment.
D. Utilities: Refer to the Drawings and Divisions 22 and 26 for plumbing and electrical
requirements.
A. Test each item of appliances to verify proper operation. Make necessary adjustments.
C. Remove packing material from appliances and leave units in clean condition, ready for
operation.
