PART 1 - GENERAL
1.1 SUMMARY
B. Scope Includes:
C. The Owner requires the Contractor to implement practices and procedures to meet the
project's environmental performance goals, which include compliance with the
requirements determined by the Sustainability Consultant’s design documentation
(LEED & WELL), and applicable local authority Green Building Regulation. Specific
project goals that may impact this area of work include, but are not limited to: reduced
impact of construction activities, construction waste recycling, reduction of water and
energy usage, adequate protection for storing materials, use of recycled-content
materials, use of locally manufactured materials, use of low-emitting materials, use of
materials having EPD's, and avoid use of restricted materials. The Contractor shall
ensure that the requirements related to these goals, as defined in individual
specification sections are implemented to the fullest extent. Substitutions, or other
changes to the work proposed by the Contractor or their Subcontractors, shall not be
allowed if such changes compromise the aforementioned environmental goals and
Green Building Regulation compliance.
1. Contractor shall, at all times undertake to ensure that all targeted goals are
achieved. As and when any risks arise that could compromise the achievement of
one or more of the targeted goals, the Contractor shall bring these to the attention
of the Employer's Representative immediately.

C. Shop Drawings: Submit complete shop drawings for fabrication and erection,
including plans, elevations, and large scale details of typical sections and connections.
A. Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals: Include component list with the
manufacturer’s reference numbers, descriptions of materials and procedures
forrepairing and cleaning of finishes, and cleaning frequency.
B. Pack and otherwise protect products to avoid damage during shipping and handling.
PART 2 - PRODUCTS
A. Shower Doors and Panels: Preglazed swinging doors and side panels.
4. Hardware:
1) Hinges..
2) Door pulls.
3) Catches: Full length magnetic type.
b. Finish: Bright chromium plated brass (BHMA 625) or Type 304 polished
stainless steel (BHMA 629).
2.2 MATERIALS
A. Architectural Bronze: ASTM B 455 for extrusions; alloy 385 (Copper Development
Association).
B. Glass Materials: Clear tempered glass complying with ASTM C 1048, Kind FT (fully
tempered), Type I (transparent glass, flat), Class 1 (clear), and Quality q3 (glazing
select).
1. Thickness: 1/4-inch.
2. Tong marks are not permitted on any piece.
D. Fasteners: Of same basic metal and alloy as metal to be fastened. Do not use metals
which are corrosive or otherwise incompatible with metals to be joined.
2.3 FABRICATION
A. General: Complete fabrication and assembly before shipping to Project site; arrange
units in sizes suitable for shipping which fit together without further cutting.
D. Prepare exposed surfaces for finishing after fabrication; eliminate surface blemishes
and imperfections.
1. Welding: Perform welding before finishing; use methods which do not discolor
metal. Comply with American Welding Society (AWS) for recommended
practices in shop welding.
2. Mill and fit joints tightly with adjacent members in correct relationship.
3. Corners: Mitered.

PART 3 - EXECUTION
3.1 EXAMINATION
A. Inspect substrates and conditions under which the work of this section will be
performed, and verify that installation may properly commence.
B. Do not proceed with the work until unsatisfactory conditions have been corrected.
3.2 PREPARATION
3.3 INSTALLATION
A. Comply with manufacturer's instructions, except where more stringent requirements are
shown or specified, and except where project conditions require extra precautions or
provisions to ensure satisfactory performance of the work.
B. Install products plumb and level, square and true, and in correct location; anchor
securely in place.
D. Joint Sealers:
1. Install joint sealers between sill members and construction below to provide
watertight construction.
2. Seal joints between shower door assembly perimeter and adjacent construction.
3. Comply with Section 07 92 00 "Joint Sealants" requirements for installation of
joint sealers.
3.4 ADJUSTING
A. Upon completion, clean all surfaces using proper methods that will not scratch or
otherwise damage finished surfaces.
B. Institute protective procedures and install protective materials as required to ensure that
work of this Section will be without damage or deterioration at Substantial Completion.
