Bhil Uprising
● Bhils were present in modern day Maharashtra and Gujrat.
● Britishers were considered outsiders by the Bhils.
● Hence, they revolted against the Britishers.
● Their revolt lasted for a period of 30 years.
Rampa Rebellion
● The Rampa rebellion started against the depredation of the government supported
Zamindars and new restrictive forest regulations.
● The Authorities launched military campaigns against the rebellious people.
Munda Rebellion
● The land given to the Mundas was getting destroyed in the hands of Britishers.
● Hence, a revolt started and Birsa Munda was the most prominent leader who encouraged
his tribe people to keep the tradition of worshipping of the sacred groves alive.
● The rebels were defeated ultimately, and Munda died in prison in 1900.
Bastar Rebellion
● Tribal resentment against the imposition of forest laws and feudal system led to the rise of
the revolt of the tribes of Chhattisgarh.
● The rebellion got suppressed in 1910.
Tana Bahagat Movement
● This movement started in a religious form but got transformed into political one under the
influence of Indian National Congress.
● Like other movements, the Britishers acted harshly on this rebellion.
