Hà: Hi, Do you like any sports?
Huyền: Yes, I enjoyed martial arts especially karate. What sport do you like?
Hà: I like swimming. Do you like swimming?
Huyền: I don’t like to swim because I don’t know how to swim yet.
Hà: Why do you like karate? What time do you usually practice karate?
Huyền: Because I like strong sports and I feel me stronger, it helps me a lot. I usually practice it on
weekend. And you?
Hà: I like swimming because it makes my healthy better and comfortable. I usually go swimming in
my free time.
Huyền: Oh, I think I’m going to go swim it really well.
UNIT 2:
Huyền: How do you see my appearance?
Hà: You are quite tall and plump. How about my appearance?
Huyền: In my opinion you have a tall and plump figure. What’s different about my appearance?
Hà: You have long black hair and a cute round face.

Huyền: Do you want to visit my hometown this summer?

Huyền: My hometown is in Ha Noi capital, there are many places for us to visit and have fun.
Hà: It’s amazing, I came up with an itinerary for this trip.
Huyền: Oh, what is that? I guess you plan to go to Hoan Kiem lake for a walk and eat right?
Hà: That’s right, in addition we will visit Ho Chi Minh mausoleum and go enjoy the capital’s
summer specialties.
Huyền: Then we will go buy souvenirs for other friends.
Hà: It will be a fun and exciting trip.
UNIT 4:
Hà: Do you live in a house or apartment?
Huyền: I live in a house. And you?
Hà: Oh me too. How many rooms are there?
Huyền: There are five – a living room, a kitchen, a bathroom and two bedrooms.
Hà: Your place is nice. How often do you household chores?
Huyền: Yes, I always clean up the yard on the weekend. What do you usually do in your free time?
Hà: I help my mother clean the house and clean out the closet.
UNIT 5:
Hà: Hi Huyền, How are you today?
Huyền: I don’t feel so good.
Hà: Oh? What’s wrong?
Huyền: I have a headache and stress.
Hà: Do you often sleep late?
Huyền: Yes, I often have to stay up late to study.
Hà: I think you should get into the habit of going to bed early and exercising to avoid stress. Get

Huyền: Yes
Hà: What reality TV shows do you often watch?
Huyền: 2 days 1 night.
Hà: Oh! Me too. Why do you like 2 days 1 night?
Huyền: Because it’s very funny and helps me relieve stress. What’s your favourite celebrity of the
shows?
Hà: I like Le Duong Bao Lam, because he so funny.

 Describe a good place to shop:
As a girl, I also love to go shopping. Do I have a suggestion on where to shop if you need to? It is Ba
Chieu market, which opens at 5 a.m to night. In the morning you can come here for breakfast and
buy fresh food. If you want to buy clothes and shoes, you should go in the evening, there will be
many stalls for you to choose from. I would love to shop here because we can bid and there are so
many different types of wear to choose from.

 Describe a piece of clothing that you like wearing:

My fashion style is quite simple and comfortable. I often wear T-shirts, loose trousers and sandals
when I go out, and when I’m at home I’m only wearing a suit.My outfits are usually dark, I have
very few light color outtfit. I buy them at the market and at the supermarket on payday days. I like
these kinds of clothes because I feel comfortable and fit in myself.

 Do you like online shopping ?:

Currently, Buying online is quite popular. As a member of the younger generation, I love buying
things online. The commercial site i usually buy is shopee. This is a large commercial site, it sells a
lot of things such as clothes, electronics, household appliances,...I often buy clothes, cosmetics on
this site. It’s a commercial site I like a lot because I can buy what I need with lots of deals and
vouchers.

 Describe your hometown:
My hometown is located in HCM City. There are only 2 seasons: rain and shine. Normally the rainy
season will start from April to the end of September and the rest of the year will be the sunny season.
I like the sunny season, although there will be very hot days but will be able to participate in many
activities. When coming to my hometown, people can go shopping and eating at famous markets
such as Ben Thanh market...People can also visit historical places sauch as the Independence Palace,
HCM City Museum...
I am very proud and love my hometown.

 Describe an attraction in your hometown:

My hometown in HCM City. When coming here, there are many places to visit, but recommend
everyone to go to Ben Thanh market. Ben Thanh market open from 4 am and ends at 7 pm.
However, after 7pm, Ben Thanh night market is extremely busy and crowded. There are 2 ideal
times for you to visit the market: from 7am to 6pm suitable for you to visit, shop, eat. After 7pm, for
those of you who like the bustling atmosphere and brilliant booths at night.
I really like it because it has a lot of traditional beauty.

 Describe a city you’ve ever been to:

As a student, I went to a new city to continue my studies. It is HCM City which is considered the
most modern and developed in our country. When I first came to the city, I hang out in a few places
such as Ben Thanh market, walking street...and see many activities of the city such as bustling
festivals and fairs. I think this is a city for me to grow and develop better, I feel excited to come here.

 Describe a close friend:
I have a best friend. She name is Khanh Vy. We’ve been friend for 8 years. I met her when we were
in middle school and in the same class together. To me she is an inspiring and extremely determined
person in learning for her friend. She is also very lively and has many good achievements. We are
best friend because we have anything in common like enjoy watching movies, hanging out and
shopping... together.

 Describe a member of your family you get on well with:

My family has 4 members including my parents, brother and me. But the person I’m closest to in the
family is my mother. She working as an employee for a company near my house. My mother is
almost 50 years old but she is very young and modern. My mom and I used to cook, hang out and go
to coffee together because we got along so well. For me, she is the one who motivator me in every
way.

 Describe a famous person you admire:

I am a person who loves to listen to music, especially I like singers who sing gentle music but also
sometimes exciting. One of them is LyLy, she is a famous singer with soft but very catchy song.
With that gentle voice along with hot trending songs like “ Have a date with Thanh Xuan”, the song
“24h” has given the music background more good and attractive songs to help her become more
famous. I really admire her voice because her voice can help people relax.

 Describe your favourite type of food?:
My mother used to make a lot of delicious dishes for my family. But one dish that I really like is
beef pho. On holidays, I often ask my mother to make pho. This dish is also very easy to cook in my
opinion. We can buy ready-made ingredients to cook according to each person’s taste. I love it
because it is a very delicious, bold and traditional dish of Viet Nam cuisine.

 Describe your favourite restaurant:

In HCM city , there are many restaurants selling delicious food. But the restaurants i often go to is
called a popular restaurant. Here they sell from noon to night with a lot of different dishes to eat with
rice such as braised meat, fried fish, sour soup,... Whenever I go, I usually order fried fish and sour
soup althought it’s quite simple but very good. I really like the space here because it’s casual and has
the same dishes as home meals.

 Describe a special meal you have ever had:

I recently had an appointment to eat at a restaurant. I thought it was a very special meal because it
was my birthday. Me and my parents, along with a few friends, after discussing, decided to go to the
Dookki restaurant. Here we have taken a lot of fried chicken, pork, vegetables,...to eat with hot pot
because the chicken and its side dishes are delicious. After the meal, I found it very special because
my parents and friends gave me many gifts and wishes.
