DROPS jacket with pattern borders in Karisma. Ladies and Men’s size S – L.

Size: Ladies: S – M – L. Men’s: S/M – M/L. Numbers in ( ) refer to men’s sizes.


Materials: DROPS Karisma from Garnstudio
400-450-450 (500-500) g colour no 17, navy blue
200-250-250 (250-300) g colour no 04, brown
100-100-100 (100-150) g colour no 35, beige
50-100-100 (100-100) colour no 45, green
50-100-100 (100-100) g colour no 14, red
50-50-50 (50-50) g colour no 22, light blue
50-50-50 (50-50) g colour no 10, yellow

DROPS circular and double pointed needles size 2.5 and 4 mm


DROPS buttons, 6 pcs.

Knitting tension: 20 sts x 26 rows on needles size 4 mm in pattern and stocking st with Karisma
= 10 x 10 cm.
Pattern: See diagram. The pattern is seen from the RS and the entire pattern is worked in
stocking st.
Rib: * K1 into back of loop, P1 *, repeat from *-*.

Body: The jacket is worked in the round on circular needle and cut for armholes and mid front
afterwards. Numbers in ( ) refer to men’s sizes. Cast on 175-183-189 (195-205) sts on circular
needles size 2.5 mm with navy blue and work 5 (6) cm rib (5 sts mid front are to be cut
afterwards and are not included in pattern). Change to circular needles size 4 mm and continue in
Pattern, at the same time inc 58-62-68 (62-64) sts evenly on first round = 233-245-257 (257-
269) sts – do not inc on the 5 sts mid front to be cut. Remember the knitting tension! When piece
measures 32-32-34 (34-36) cm inc 5 sts each side (to be cut for armhole and not included in
pattern). When piece measures 57-57-59 (58-60) cm cast off the middle 31-31-31 (27-29) sts
(this includes the 5 sts to be cut) mid front for neck and continue back and forth on needle. Cast
off to shape the neckline on every other row: 4 sts, 1 time, 3 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 2
times. When piece measures 61-61-63 (63-65) cm cast off the middle 46-46-46 (42-44) sts on
back piece for neck and dec 1 st on neckline on next row. Cast off remaining sts on shoulder
when piece measures 62-62-64 (64-66) cm.
Sleeve: Cast on 46-46-46 (48-50) sts on double pointed needles size 2.5 mm with navy blue and
work 5 cm stocking st, P 1 round, 5 cm stocking st for ladies sizes, and 5 cm rib for men’s sizes.
Change to double pointed needles size 4 mm and continue in pattern, at the same time inc 14-14-
14 (10-8) sts evenly on first round = 60-60-60 (58-58) sts. At the same time inc 2 sts mid under
arm a total of 30-31-31 (31-31) times on every * 3rd and 4th * round alternately = 120-122-122
(120-120) sts. When piece measures approx 50.5-49.5-48.5 (52.5-53) cm work 2 cm in reverse
stocking sts (= edge for sewing on sleeves to body piece). Cast off.
Assembly: Sew a marking thread in the centre of the inc sts each side of the body piece and mid
front. Sew 2 seams on a sewing machine around the marking thread 1st seam = ½ st from the
MT, 2nd seam = ½ st from the 1st seam. Cut up for armholes and mid front. Sew the shoulder
seam. Pick up approx 110-120 sts along left front piece on needle size 2.5 mm with navy blue
and work 3 cm stocking st, P 1 row, 3 cm stocking st, cast off. Fold edge double towards WS and
fasten.
Repeat along right front piece, but after 1 cm make 6 buttonholes evenly distributed. 1
buttonhole = cast off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts in the same place on the return row –
remember buttonholes on the piece in stocking sts to be folded towards WS! Pick up approx 100
sts round the neck on needle size 2.5 mm with navy blue and work 2.5 cm stocking st, P 1 row,
change to beige, 2.5 cm stocking st, cast off. Fold the edge double towards the WS and fasten.
Sew the sleeves to the body from the RS as follows: Alternate between 1 st in the last row on the
sleeve before the edge in reverse stocking sts and then 1 st in the body part after the machine
sewn seam. Turn the jacket inside out and sew the purl seam from the sleeves over the cut edges
on the body part.
Sew on buttons.
