Principal’s Message
Dear Parent,
Greetings from Presidency School R T Nagar !
As I pen this School Year closure note, I must say that this year has been phenomenal. They say, 'there are
decades where nothing happens and there are weeks where decades happen', but this year- days, weeks and
months were not only happening but also has left behind benchmarks.

We are thrilled that all our pupils of all ages including the teachers were involved in a learning that simply
spelt matchless dynamism.

All through, we made it imperative that our children count their blessings and focus on the gains of the year
than the gaps. I am sure you will agree that it is important to remain grateful and humble, as we remember
how privileged and fortunate we are. The year has built massive reservoirs of endurance and resilience in us
all. Children have become more self-reliant, empathetic and have displayed a maturity that defies their
young years. I must say, our children have been heroes over the years as they grappled with uncertainties
and emerged stronger than ever before.

From making a mark on National and International Forums in Throw Ball to finishing as Runners Up at the
BTR Cricket Tournament , we made it 4th at the Nationals in Archery along with accolades in Football,
Quizzes, Debates, MUN, Dances as well as many other firsts. We now have our Volley ball and Hockey
Teams gearing up to make a mark. With 100 odd cadets of the NCC Air Wing making waves our School
indeed has celebrated the Festival of learning.

Not to forget we bid adieu to our graduating class of 157 Grade X students who are moving on to newer
avenues, exploring the options that the world has for them. Each of the graduates has assured to be the
Polaris in the lives that they touch, remaining steadfast, determined and undeterred.
Looking back on this year, I'm proud to note how far we have come as a family of Presidency Schools,
celebrating our strong academic history and building an education platform fit for the future. True to our
commitment we are preparing all Presidencians for tomorrow's world, empowering our young learners to
shape the world they want to live in!

We are delighted that teaching and learning with fun interspersed , are overwhelmingly seen as the things
we do best. The constructive feedback and parent connect have been much valued. I reiterate with pride that
we have cemented our parent partnership bond, made it stronger than ever before. The nature of
appreciative behaviour and responsiveness has deepened our relationship .This interplay of life and learning
is truly our fuel to excellence. We as holistic educators look to the future with optimism and courage and
pass on the wave of compassion and empathy to all around.
As a parting note, we will miss those families who are moving out of the City / State /Country. Equally we
say goodbye to members of staff who have moved on owing to personal obligations . Our very best wishes go
with them with sincere thanks for their engagement and efforts.

We look forward to the next academic year, and offer a warm welcome to all the new students and their
families.

Thank you for being on the journey this year as a part of our ever growing Presidency family, and I wish you
all the brightest of futures.

Wishing you all an enjoyable summer,

Yours truly,
Asha Micah

glorious, when seen in the community of peers”. Let

All students had an amazing learning experience in each of these CCA clubs. As they received their

well-deserved certificates, they are looking forward to be a part of the CCA clubs for the next

academic year.

Mathematics
“Without mathematics nothing you can do. Everything around you is mathematics. Everything
around you are numbers.” – Shakuntala Devi. Keeping the above quote in mind, various activities
and competitions were organized across the grades as a part of Math month in January 2024.
Grade 1 and 2 activities were based on the number concepts and emphasized on various operations.
Grade 3 and 4 students showcased their calculation skills through the activities. Grade 5 and 6
students did activities which were connected to real life. Grade7 students used their creativity skills to
prepare rap songs and grade 8 students made models of solids and understood the real-life
connections. Grade 9 activity was based on the principle learning by doing. Students did the
verification of various theorems using paper cutouts which helped in improving their critical thinking
skills. Competitions were also planned for grades 1 to 8 through which students combined their
artistic skills with mathematical skills. Also, the competitions measured the accuracy, application, and

Dance
In the past academic year, the Dance Department saw dynamic changes and we showcased
remarkable performances. The year commenced with the arrival of Rohit R, a new dance teacher,
bringing fresh energy and expertise to the team. The department participated in two notable dance
competitions, securing victory at DPS with a captivating presentation on the theme "Journey of
Cinema" portrayed in an arithmetic progression, and earning second place at NPS with a compelling
performance themed around Vedas and Upanishads. Throughout the year, the stage came alive with
numerous performances during various assemblies, including the inspiring story of Avani, the
celebration of Ganesh Chaturthi through Navadurga, and engaging mime acts, among others. The
pinnacle of the year was the annual day celebrations, featuring two spectacular shows: "Fire and Ice"
for grades 3 to 10 and "Toytonics" for Kindergarten. A total of 35 unique performances enthralled the
audience, with the Toytonics show receiving a standing ovation. The "Fire and Ice" shows were a tour
de force, featuring captivating acts such as an Ariel performance, the bravery of Sangolli Rayanna,
the tragedy of Titanic, the historical significance of Jallianwala Bagh, themes from Dante’s Inferno,

The Primary Panorama
The second semester of the academic year 2023-2024 started by the last week of October after a
short break. Our students of Grade 1-5 were back with a bang, ready to face the challenges of the
second session. Children settled down quickly and started studies in earnest.

Our curriculum is designed in such a way that all learning happens involving the students from start to
finish. Activity-based, child-centered, integrated method is what we follow here. This method gives no
room for students to find classes boring. Everyday at school offers something new and interesting, this
helps the child to look forward to coming here. Learning is a lifelong process and doing and learning
has a long-lasting effect

Presidency School, R.T. Nagar 82

Language Arts is a subject that
helps students get a good
command over the English
language. Prose, poetry,
grammar were topics taught
through activities. Phonics at the
lower level is especially
important, sight words and high
frequency words were taught
using phonic patterns wherever
applicable. Grammar topics were
taught in Concentrix circles of
difficulty. They played grammar
games like spotting parts of
speech and sorting parts of
speech into grammar bags were
part and parcel of everyday
learning. Reading programs,
class discussions, poetry writing,
limerick writing, and roleplays
were conducted. PowerPoint
presentations were used in the
classrooms to enhance learning

Presidency School, R.T. Nagar 83

In languages like Kannada and Hindi, teachers helped our young learners to firstly improve
their listening and speaking skills. Spell checks were conducted to improve their spelling. The
math class is always a lovely place to be in. Children are super excited to learn and develop
new mathematical skills through games, activities, and PowerPoint presentations. Math games
like Snakes and Ladders, Playing with Numbers, were great fun. They enjoyed creating the
Abacus to show the place value of numbers. Songs related to geometrical diagrams help
students enjoy their learning and at the same time understand the concepts well.

Presidency School, R.T. Nagar 84

Presidency School, R.T. Nagar 85
In science, topics like Human Body, Adaptation in Animals, The Skeletal System, and Our Green World
were all taught through models, experiments, observations, and recordings. Students used simple
material that was available at home to create lifecycles, habitats, skeletons, and charts to present their
learning. Catchy posters were put up by children about how to save and conserve water and soil

Presidency School, R.T. Nagar 86

In social studies, children
learnt topics through
PowerPoint presentations,
model-making, project work,
and drawings. The young
learners created projects on
volcanic eruptions, water
harvesting models, and
terrace farming on mountain
slopes. Presentations on the
water footprint, helped
students understand how
much of water was used in
each household and how
much they could save for
future use. In computers
students got involved in the
lab through various activities
- enhancing presentations
programming in scratch,
creating invitation cards,
coding fun, computation
thinking, using a mouse,
and using paint.

Presidency School, R.T. Nagar 87

Music, Art, and Dance classes were a great attraction for our young children. In the music classes,
vocal exercises, long and short notes, and classical notes were taught. Students learnt to sing a lot
of songs in their regular classes. In the art classes, symmetrical drawings, skills of camouflaging in
animals and insects, pencil shading, coloring concepts, creating textures in artwork, using the
technique of pointillism, and number drawings were taught. Children looked forward to their dance
classes and were eager to master the steps that were taught by the dance teachers.

Presidency School, R.T. Nagar 88

Children enjoyed their
Physical Education &
Games classes
thoroughly. They learnt the
art of exercising, balancing
techniques, motor skills,
concentration, and other
skills for different types of
games.

Our morning assemblies are also theme-based. Every class gets a chance to put up as many students
so that they can exhibit their talents on this platform. It is the teachers’ responsibility to see that every
student gets a chance to perform. Some of the themes picked up for the second semester were –
“Bringing a Smile on the Face of the Underprivileged”, “Peaceful Living”, “Digital Industries”,
“Ecosystem”, “Food Industry”, “Health Industry”, “Waste Segregation”, “Biodegradable products”.

Presidency School, R.T. Nagar 89

Special Assemblies are
conducted in order to
celebrate festivals, special
events, and important days
in the school calendar. It is
a celebration time for all at
school as we get together
to celebrate these events.

In the last week of

October, we celebrated
Valmiki Jayanthi and
Halloweens Day. In the
month of November, Diwali
was celebrated with great
pomp and splendor. The
whole campus was
decorated with steamers
and ‘Diya’s’ that added to
the festive look.

Presidency School, R.T. Nagar 90

Children’s Day was also celebrated in November. This is a day our children wait for as it is their
teachers who put up a show for the students.

Just before closing for the Winter Break, Christmas was celebrated in school by all our children.
Children came dressed in white with a bright red Santa Hat and a smile on their face to celebrate
the occasion this year. Christmas is a season of peace, love, and joy! The school choir sang
beautiful Christmas carols. A pantomime depicting the nativity scene, the Angels Dance, and
finally the rollicking Santas rent the air with laughter through their dance. The whole school joined
together to wish each other the compliments of this wonderful season.

Presidency School, R.T. Nagar 91

In January, we celebrated Makar Sankranti which symbolizes the harvest season. Speeches, dances,
and songs were presented by our students. A major event in January was the celebration of Republic
Day on the 26th of January. It was celebrated with great fervor and splendor through speeches, dances,
skits, and song

Presidency School, R.T. Nagar 92

Star of the Week - Every week one
child is selected as “Star of the
Week” who is acknowledged for
his/her achievements. The child gets
a chance to speak to the class on
any topic and interact with teachers,
the child is made to feel important
and special. All children look forward
to this special week since they are
appreciated for what he/she has
done.

Presidency School, R.T. Nagar 93

Every month we have one
subject highlighted where
students work on two activities
and one competition. The month
of November being the month of
“Kannada Rajyotsava” was
allotted to the Kannada
department. Children of grades
I-V took part in singing Kannada
songs, reciting motivational
poems, word building,
handwriting competitions,
collage making competitions
depicting the culture, art,
heritage, and historical places of
Karnataka.

The month of December

went to the Music
department. The students
of grade I-V had a group
singing competition. The
competition was open to all
students. Every class had
5-6 groups taking part. It
was a tough competition
with each group vying for
the top winning spot. The
participation from all
grades were very high with
almost the entire class
participating.

Presidency School, R.T. Nagar 94

The month of January belonged to the Math department. Students took part in various activities
and competitions. Activities like “Pretty Smart Mort” where students were able to enhance their
understanding in the concept of equivalent fractions in the form of pizzas, cakes, and cookies.
Sudoku was another activity which allowed the students improve their logical skills,
concentration, and reasoning power. Students of grade IV took part in the “Dragon Race”
competition while the students of grade V worked on an activity, “Around the World” which was to
evaluate the relevance, creativity, and presenting the calculation of the perimeter. “Ducks in a
Row” was another activity in which they calculated the product of decimals. A competition called

Library Week – At our school students are provided with the right reading environment to create
an effective reading culture. Our young learners are on the right track in becoming avid readers.
The Library Week was a remarkable success which unraveled a plethora of activities and
excitement, with activities like Role Plays, dressing up as characters from various books. The
diversity of characters came to life through colorful costumes and praiseworthy speeches. Artistic
cover pages, bookmarks, story writing, dialogue delivery were all part of the Library Week
celebration. During their regular library classes, students enjoyed reading stories of different
genres from the library and at times reciting a story to their friends.

Presidency School, R.T. Nagar 98

Subject Enrichment and Art Integration – Under
the Subject Enrichment and Art Integration
students went beyond the classroom to do
research and find out more facts on the topics
learnt in class. The Art Integration project
involved incorporating Art with Math and Social
Science using Art as a tool for understanding and
exploring concepts in these subjects. Different
topics were assigned to each level. The students

After a hectic session and just before the final exam a little fun, frolic, and enjoyment is necessary
for everyone. Keeping this in mind, the school organized a picnic for all our young learners to the
“Dreamland Resort”. Watching them at their special day out, we could see how much they needed
this break to enjoy with their friends and teachers. They sang, they danced, they went on rides, had
fun in the water, enjoyed the magic show, and played to their hearts content with their friends. It
was a memorable day to cherish in their lives. Well now our students are down to serious study.
Our children are doing their final exams, and we are sure they will come out with flying colors.
We have come to the end of another session and look forward to the summer vacation. We wish
you a restful vacation and hope to see you back in the next academic session.
