Emergency/Earthquake Procedure

Phase 1: ALARM

A pre-arranged signal such as siren/bell will be activated for 30 seconds. During the
drill, the siren/bell indicates earthquakes/shaking. Personnel will be alerted by the
signal.

Phase 2: RESPONSE

While the siren/bell is ongoing, everyone should move away from the windows, glass or
light fixtures. In this place everyone should perform “DUCK, COVER AND HOLD
“Under desk, tables and chairs. Remain in this position until the “shaking” stops (siren
stop)

Phase 3: EVACUATION

Once the “shaking” stops, personnel should evacuate the building and proceed using
pre-determined routes to identified evacuation areas.

Phase 4: ASSEMBLY POINT AREA

The designated evacuation/assembly point area, personnel must be grouped together


where they belong.

Phase 5: HEAD COUNT

Safety Committee Team, Foreman and lead man should check and make sure all
personnel are accounted for.

Phase 6: EVALUATION

Key persons Responsibilities


1). Safety - Decides when to evacuate and which route to take.
Committee Team, - Sees to it that evacuation is done swiftly and orderly.
Foreman and lead - Ensures that workers are familiar with evacuation routes and
man procedure.
2). Monitor - maintaining order in the moving lines.

3). Research -Searchers area to ensure that nobody is left behind.

4). Checkers -Check attendance of evacuees at evacuation area.
