With reference to the letters cited, a Sound Proof Room was constructed
by PWD authorities at an estimate of Rs.12 Lakhs at Govt. Hospital, Sirkazhi and
handed over on 10.05.2023. The Sound Proof Room was declared open by Hon’ble
Health Minister on 17.08.2023.

In Govt. District Headquarters Hospital, Mayiladuthurai a Sound Proof

Room is under construction by PWD authorities at a cost of Rs.5 Lakhs in the
Outpatient Block and it is ready to be handed over to the Hospital Authorities soon.

In Govt. District Headquarters Hospital, Mayiladuthurai and Govt.

Hospital, Sirkazhi ENT surgeons are available to examine the patients for hearing
related complaints. But in both Mayiladuthurai and Sirkazhi Hospitals
Audiometrician / Audiologist post has not been sanctioned so far and hence
Technicians to conduct Audiometry are not available.

Hence for the welfare of the people and patients, one post of
Audiometrician / Audiologist each for Govt. District Headquarters Hospital,
Mayiladuthurai and Govt. Hospital, Sirkazhi may kindly be sanctioned at the
earliest.
