DROPS jacket in “Alpaca” and “Kid Mohair” with cables and bobbles. Size S - L.

Size: S/M – M/L.


Materials: DROPS Alpaca from Garnstudio
350-350 g colour no 0100, off-white
And use DROPS Kid Mohair from Garnstudio
200-250 g colour no 01, off-white

DROPS pointed needles size 2.5 and 3.5 mm, or size needed to get 21 x 30 rows in square
pattern and 22 sts x 42 rows in moss st on needle size 3.5 mm = 10 x 10 cm.

DROPS buttons, 6 pcs.

Rib: * K1, P1 *, repeat from *-*.

Cable pattern: Work the cable and 5 sts each side in Alpaca.
Row 1 to 9: P5, K8, P5.
Row 10: slip the first 4 sts on cable needle in front of piece (on right front piece slip sts on cable
needle behind piece) K4, K4 from cable needle.
Row 11 to 18: Like row 1 to 9.

Square pattern: * K6 with Alpaca, P6 with Kid-Mohair *, repeat from *-* on 8 rows. Now reverse
the qualities and pattern, i.e. * P6 with Kid-Mohair, K6 with Alpaca *, and repeat on 8 rows.
Repeat these 16 rows.

Moss st: worked in Alpaca: Row 1: * K2, P2 *. Row 2 and 4: K the K and P the P. Row 3: P the K
and K the P. Repeat row 1-4.

1 Ridge: Worked in Kid-Mohair: 2 rows reverse stocking st, 2 rows stocking st.

Bobbles: 1 bobble: Inc to 5 sts in 1 st with Alpaca, work 4 rows reverse stocking st back and forth
on needle on these 5 sts, on next row K5 tog.

Bobble pattern body piece: 2 cm in Kid-Mohair, then next row as follows: K 4-3 sts, 1 bobble in
Alpaca and then 1 bobble in every 13th st across the row. 3 cm Kid Mohair, then next row as
follows: K 10 sts, 1 bobble in Alpaca and then 1 bobble in every 13th st across the row. 3 cm Kid-
Mohair. Repeat the 2 rows with bobbles with 3 cm Kid-Mohair between each row.

Bobble pattern, sleeve: See pattern. Work the bobbles in every 11th st.

Back piece:
Worked back and forth on needle.
Cast on 122-126 sts on needle size 2.5 mm with Alpaca and work 6 cm rib. Change to needle size
3.5 mm and continue in square pattern, at the same time inc 4-12 sts evenly on first row = 126-
138 sts. Remember the knitting tension!
When piece measures 27 cm (= 8 vertical squares) work 1 Ridge (see above = 4 rows in total).
Now work 17 cm moss st with Alpaca, at the same time dec 6 sts evenly on first row = 126-138
sts. Piece now measures approx 46 cm.
Continue in Kid Mohair and stocking st with bobble pattern – see above.
When piece measures 58 cm cast off the middle 30 sts for neck and complete each side
separately. Cast off to shape the neckline on every other row: 4 sts 1 time, 2 sts 1 time, 1 st 2
times.
Cast off remaining sts on shoulder when piece measures 61 cm.

Left front piece: Cast on 60-66 sts on needle size 2.5 mm with Alpaca and work 6 cm rib. Change
to needle size 3.5 mm and continue in square pattern on the first 42-48 sts and cable pattern on
the last 18 sts. After 8 vertical squares piece measures approx 27 cm. Now work 2 rows garter st
(= 4 rows in total) – do not work garter st on cable - and then continue in moss st for 17 cm, at
the same time inc 4 sts evenly on first row (do not inc on cable).
Work 1 Ridge (= 4 rows in total), at the same time dec 4 sts evenly on first row = 60-66 cm Piece
now measures approx 46 cm.
Complete piece in bobble pattern, at the same time when piece measures 50 cm cast off to shape
the neckline on every row from mid front: 2 sts 4 times, 1 st 2 times. Cast off remaining sts on
shoulder when piece measures 61 cm.

Right front piece: Cast on 60-66 sts on needle size 2.5 mm with Alpaca and work 6 cm rib.
Change to needle size 3.5 mm and continue in moss st on the 46-53 sts from the side and cable
pattern on the 18 sts towards mid front, at the same time inc 4 sts (do not inc on cable sts)
evenly on first row = 64-70 sts.
When piece measures 23 cm work 1 Ridge (= 4 rows in total), at the same time dec 4 sts evenly
(do not dec on cable sts) on first row = 60-66 sts. Now continue in square pattern.
After 8 vertical squares piece measures approx 46 cm.
Work 1 Ridge (= 4 rows in total) and complete piece in bobble pattern.
Cast off for neckline as described for left front piece and cast off remaining sts on shoulder as
described for left front piece.

Right sleeve: Cast on 52-54 sts on needle size 2.5 mm with Alpaca and work 6 cm rib. Change to
needle size 3.5 mm and Kid-Mohair and continue in stocking st, on first row inc 16-14 sts evenly
on first row = 58-68 sts. At the same time inc 1 st each side on every 5th row 4 times, 1 st each
side on every 6th row 12 times and 1 st each side on every 5th row 13 times = 116-126 sts.
At the same time after 2.5 cm stocking st, work 1 row with bobbles, 2.5 cm stocking st, 1 Ridge
(= 4 rows in total), 17 cm moss st in Alpaca, at the same time inc 4 sts on first row, then 2 rows
garter st (= 4 rows in total), at the same dec 4 sts evenly on first row, and now complete piece in
square pattern.
Cast off all sts when piece measures 48 cm.

Left sleeve: Cast on and work like right sleeve, but swap square pattern and moss st. Inc 1 st
each side on every 5th row 17 times and 1 st each side on every 6th row 12 times. At the same
time on first row in moss st inc 6 sts evenly. Cast off the 132 (138) sts when sleeve measure 48
cm.

Assembly: Join shoulders. Set in sleeves and sew side and sleeve seams.

Pick up approx 115 sts along left front piece on needle size 2.5 mm with Alpaca and work 4 cm
rib, cast off. Repeat along right front piece, but after 2 cm make 4 buttonholes evenly distributed.
1 buttonhole = cast off 2 sts and cast on 2 new sts on return row. Pick up approx 106 sts round
neckline on needle size 2.5 mm with Alpaca and work 3 cm stocking st, P 1 row, 3 cm stocking st,
cast off and fold edge double towards WS and fasten. Sew on buttons.
