 SCENE 1

INTRODUCTION - PRESENTATION

The Rascals Club (Classroom / Playground) – Day - Filmed

We read the main title:

“The Little Rascals – A Christmas Tale”

This title disappears and the action starts.

The whole gang is trying to clean the mess in the club. They’re working
in a complete desorder.

Froggy scares Mary Ann with a frog.

Spanky and Alfalfa play chess, one of them is cheating.

Darla and Butch are playing with a ball, one of them misses a shot and
the ball bounces on Stymie’s head, then it ends on Waldo who was drinking
tea, Waldo was also watching the chess match.

Alfalfa is carrying a broom on his shoulder, stops and turns to look

around; at the same time Spanky and Stymie bow near to him, in a very
specific order to avoid the broom to hit them, but at the end, they
strike the broom with the head.

Butch steps in a bucket, he tries to get rid off it waving his leg and
the bucket flies far away to the sky, it finally lands on Darla’s head.
She takes it off revealing Butch’s shoe.

Waldo is sweeping the floor with a broom but Mary Ann walks by and kicks
the dust.

Froggy is nailing a board and almost hits his frog (Frogbert).

Every character looks to the camera and waves, each one of their names
appears above them, one by one.

At the end of the scene, everyone waves to the camera at the same time,
someone makes the whole gang fall.

Fade to black.

 SCENE 2

THE RASCALS CLUB

The Rascals Club (Classroom / Hallway) – Day - Acted

The whole gang is cleaning the club, they are not working in order and
actually, they are making the mess bigger. They have already placed the
Christmas tree and some decorations.

SPANKY

Hurry up kids! Let’s make this club shine!

The whole gang works faster.

STYMIE

Oh dear! This box is too heavy!

BUTCH

Let me help you!

Both kids lift the box but they just fail and leaves it fall.

ALFALFA

Hey! Watch out!

Alfalfa steps on the contents of the box and almost falls down, froggy
catches him.

FROGGY

Wow! Be careful!

Spanky, Stymie, Butch, Alfalfa and Froggy go ahead with their activities.

Darla and Waldo appears, open another box and show some Christmas
arrangements.

 DARLA

Nice! We found the christmas stuff!

WALDO

Yes! Finally!

Mary Ann approaches Darla and Waldo, she takes a look into the box.

MARY ANN

Excellent! I think it’s time to set all this things in the

Christmas tree.

The whole gang leaves their other activities and takes something from the
box, they actually fight each other to get something from it.

SPANKY

Hey! I want the spheres!

STYMIE

No! Those are mine!

BUTCH

Come on guys! Leave something for me! I want the red ones!

ALFALFA

No! The red ones are mine! Oh, wait… The blue ones are mine!

FROGGY

Did you see Frogbert? Listen guys! Did you see my frog?

DARLA

No! I’m trying to get a bow, or a snowflake!

 WALDO

A frog? No! I’m trying to get a candle, or a candy cane!

MARY ANN

I want some candies! I think I found some at the bottom!

SPANKY / STYMIE / BUTCH / ALFALFA

Yes! I want some too!

Suddently, the kids jump scared. Froggy approaches the box and finds his
frog, Frogbert, he takes it carefully.

FROGGY

Frogbert! There you are!

DARLA

I think Frogbert ate the candies!

WALDO

Oh no! I wanted some.

Mary Ann approaches the box again, she tries to get some candies.

MARY ANN

Maybe at the bottom…

Spanky stops her and says out loud…

SPANKY

Hey! Stop! We are not trying to get some candies, we need to get
ready for the Christmas tree contest!

We just have a week to finish the arrangements, so we must work harder!

 STYMIE

Yes! Spanky is right! If we want to win the contest, we need to

work faster and better!

BUTCH

OK, but now, what do we need to do? We almost finish the pine tree.

ALFALFA

It is not a pine tree! It’s a Christmas tree! And now we just need
to decorate it, and set the lights. So everyone, let’s go!

EVERYONE

OK, let’s go!

The kids take Christmas decorations from the box and start setting them
on the tree. They are still working without order.

FROGGY

Darla, be careful with the ornaments!

DARLA

Yes! I know, I know.

WALDO

Hey! Did anybody see the red ornaments?

MARY ANN

They are under your feet!

Waldo jumps off the ornaments and starts lifting them.

SPANKY

I want to set the star!

STYMIE

 All right, let me find it for you.

BUTCH

I think it is in the box, take a look.

Alfalfa finds the star and tries to take it, Froggy helps him.

ALFALFA

Now it’s mine! I will set the star!

FROGGY

Yes! Hurry up!

DARLA

Wait a minute!

Darla tries to stop them.

WALDO / MARY ANN

No Darla!

Waldo and Mary Ann stop her, and take the star.

SPANKY

I said I wanted to set the star!

STYMIE

Yes! Give Spanky the star!

Butch tries to take the star, everyone starts a fight.

BUTCH

I will take it for you!

ALFALFA

Stop! The star is for me!

 FROGGY

Take it! Quickly!

The star falls to the ground. Darla takes it.

DARLA

I got it!

Darla runs with the star, Waldo takes the star from her and throws it to
Mary Ann, she catches it.

WALDO

Mary Ann! Hurry up! Pass the star to Alfalfa!

MARY ANN

All right!

Spanky intercepts the star.

SPANKY

Enough! I will set the star!

Spanky sets the star and nothing happens.

STYMIE

I think you must plug the cable.

BUTCH

Yes! Let me do it!

Froggy and Alfalfa take the cable first and they plug it in.

ALFALFA / FROGGY

Ha! We made it first!

DARLA

That’s not fair!

 WALDO

Spanky placed the star!

MARY ANN

Yes! And that’s not fair!

SPANKY

Of course it is!

STYMIE / BUTCH

Yes!

Alfalfa unplugs the star. Froggy tries to plug in the star but Darla
stops him, Froggy passes the cable to Alfalfa and a fight for the cable
starts.

ALFALFA

No!

FROGGY

Now it’s my turn!

DARLA

Hey! Stop!

WALDO

You stop Darla!

After a while, Alfalfa plugs in the star.

MARY ANN

Yes! Well done!

All the kids leave the scene still fighting each other.

 Curtain.

SCENE 3
CHRISTMAS TREE CONTEST - FIRE

Smoke appears in the outlet, a fire starts, it burns the Christmas tree.
Spanky comes into scene, sees the fire and starts yelling and running in
circles really fast.

SPANKY

Fire! Fire! Hey! Fireeee!

Everybody comes back to scene, they get scared and run in circles.

STYMIE

Stop! Find water! Water!

The kids look for water, they find buckets, Spanky and Stymie find a
hose.

BUTCH

Hurry up Darla! Bring the bucket!

Butch and Darla use a bucket with water to turn off the fire.

ALFALFA

Froggy! We need to use the ballons!

FROGGY

Alright! Hurry up!

Alfalfa and Froggy fill ballons with water. Then, they throw them to the
fire. Darla uses the bucket but it doesn’t have enough water.

DARLA

 Oh no! I need another one! Butch!

Waldo and Mary Ann uses a telephone to call the Fire Department, but they
don’t know how to do it.

WALDO

Mary Ann! Let’s call 9-1-1, hurry up! Let´s call the Fire
Deparment!

MARY ANN

Yes! But, what’s the number for 9-1-1? Do you remember?

Spanky and Stymie use the hose against the fire. The water pressure is so
strong that makes Spanky fly.

SPANKY

Woooo! Help! Help!

STYMIE

Woooo! Watch out!

Butch is trying to fill another bucket but his foot gets stucked in it,
he tries to take it off.

BUTCH

Ohhh! Not again!

Alfalfa and froggy throw ballons to the fire, they miss every shot.

ALFALFA

Froggy! Try to aim straight! Do it again!

FROGGY

I say the same thing pal!

Darla is waiting for the bucket, approaches Butch, helps him with the
bucket but his shoe stays in it, Darla gives it back to him.

DARLA

Come on Butch! The fire!

Waldo and Mary Ann are still triying to call 9-1-1.

WALDO

Did you say 9-1-2? Try again! Try again!

MARY ANN

Yes! No, wait, I said 9-2-1! Or, 1-1-9? Try again!

Open shot of the kids trying to turn off the fire.

Fade to black.

The kids finally turn off the fire, everything is destroyed. They
approach the scene and look at it.

EVERYBODY

Oh no! We are going to lose the contest!

Fade to black.

 SCENE 4
FIGHTING EACH OTHER

Everybody appears into scene, now we can see two teams: Team 1 (Spanky,
Stymie, Butch and Darla) and Team 2 (Alfalfa, Froggy, Waldo and Mary Ann)
they are fighting each other.

SPANKY

Hey kids! What happened?

STYMIE

What are we going to do now?

BUTCH

This is their fault! We’re going to lose the Christmas tree contest
because of him!

Butch points at Alfalfa.

ALFALFA

No! You didn’t let me do it! So maybe I did it wrong! This is your
fault!

FROGGY

Yes! Alfalfa is right! Wait a minute, and Frogbert? Frogbert!

Froggy picks up Frogbert from the debris, he is almost burned.

DARLA

Oh no! Poor Frogbert!

WALDO

 This is not Alfalfa’s fault! But anyway, we’re going to lose the
Christmas tree contest!

MARY ANN

It’s true! … Oh no, what are we going to do now?

SPANKY

I think we must work alone!

STYMIE

Yes! That’s a Good idea!

BUTCH

The Christmas tree contest is next Sunday! I think we can do it

better without you!

Butch points at Alfalfa.

ALFALFA

I think the same, but without you!

FROGGY

I’m with you Alfalfa! Let’s work without them!

DARLA

We don’t need you anyway!

WALDO

Alfalfa, Froggy, I’m with you too.

MARY ANN

Me too! Let´s work without them!

All the kids leave the scene still fighting each other. The first team
leaves by the left and the second one, by the right.

SCENE 5
PREPARATIONS FOR THE CONTEST
(Spanky, Stymie, Butch, Darla)

The four kids are working hard making decorations, they have a mess.

SPANKY

Hey! Hurry up! We need to make all the decorations that we can!

STYMIE

Yes! Hurry up!

BUTCH

Yes! But listen, I have a question...

DARLA

Just hurry up!

The kids work faster... after a while spanky starts talking

again...

SPANKY

I think we will win the contest! This is very easy!

STYMIE

Yes! Is very easy!

BUTCH

Yes! You’re right!, but I have a question!

 DARLA

Just hurry up Butch!

SPANKY

Yes! Hurry up... the faster we work, the better!

STYMIE

Yes Butch! Just keep working!

BUTCH

Ok ok, but I have a question!

SPANKY / STYMIE / DARLA

What?!

BUTCH

Where is the Christmas tree?!

All the kids take a look around... They realice that they didn’t make any
Christmas tree.

SPANKY / STYMIE / DARLA

Oh no! We forgot the tree!

BUTCH

And I think we don’t have enough time to make one!

SPANKY

Oh no! And now what?

STYMIE

We are going to lose the contest!

 SPANKY / STYMIE / BUTCH / DARLA

Oh no!

All the kids worry and start walking in circles. Curtain.

SCENE 6
FRIENDS AGAIN

Alfalfa, Froggy, Waldo and Mary Ann appears into scene, Alfalfa and
Froggy are working together building a pine tree, they’re doing a
good job. Waldo and Mary Ann grab a box and go backstage.

ALFALFA

Wow! Very nice! I think we made a good job!

FROGGY

Yes! And Frogbert made its part too!

Both children thank Frogbert.

ALFALFA

I can’t wait to see Spanky’s face when we win the contest!

FROGGY

That’s right! Our Christmas tree will be the best!

ALFALFA / FROGGY

Yes!

They continue with their job and finally finish the pine tree.

ALFALFA

Perfect! We finish! This is a very nice Christmas tree!

FROGGY

 Yeah! Now we only need the decorations!

ALFALFA

Waldo and Mary Ann! Did you finish? Bring the Christmas
decorations!

Mary Ann and Waldo appear carrying a box.

WALDO

Yes, we finished, let us show you what we did...

Waldo turns the box over...

MARY ANN

We made very nice decorations... using trash!

ALFALFA / FROGGY

What?!

Both kids pick up the decorations and look at them carefully, after
that, they try to set them on the tree but they look bad.

ALFALFA

Oh no! I think this is not going to work!

FROGGY

This looks very bad!

WALDO

Ohh no!

MARY ANN

We did the best we could!

Alfalfa, Froggy, Waldo and Mary Ann seem very sad, they’re still trying
to set the Christmas decorations.

After a while, Spanky, Stymie, Butch and Darla appear, They’re are
carrying all their Christmas decorations. Both teams seem ashamed,
they’re just looking each other, finally Spanky starts talking.

SPANKY

Hey kids! How are you?

ALFALFA

Hi, we’re good, finishing our Christmas tree...

FROGGY

Well, no, actually we’re not good, we finish our pine tree but our
decorations...

Froggy points to the Christmas tree.

BUTCH

Ohh, I don’t think this is going to work!

STYMIE

That’s right!

WALDO / MARY ANN

Yes! Now we know.

DARLA

I think you need a change.

SPANKY

Listen kids, we don’t have a Christmas tree, but we have all this
decorations...

STYMIE

 Yes, take a look!

Spanky, Stymie, Butch and Darla opens their box and show all their
decorations, the other kids approach them and take a look. Now they look
happy.

ALFALFA

What are you trying to say? That we can use all this decorations?

FROGGY

Where is your Christmas tree?

SPANKY

We don’t have a Christmas tree.

ALFALFA / FROGGY / WALDO / MARY ANN

What?! Why?

BUTCH

We worked very hard on this decorations...

DARLA

So we forgot to make a Christmas tree!

SPANKY

And now we don’t have enough time to make one!

STYMIE

But you have a tree...

ALFALFA

Ok ok, actually we don’t have decorations...

FROGGY

 Yes, well, just these ones...

MARY ANN

They’re made of trash, we thought that would be a good idea.

WALDO

But no, they look horrible!

SPANKY / STYMIE / BUTCH / DARLA

Yes!

SPANKY

Well, what do you say?

BUTCH

Let’s work together again!

STYMIE / DARLA

Yes!

Alfalfa, Froggy, Waldo and Mary Ann step back and start thinking just for
a moment, after a while they come back to answer.

ALFALFA / FROGGY

You know what?

WALDO / MARY ANN

We say yes!

The kids start working all together, this time they’re doing it in order,
once they finish, Spanky and Alfalfa place the star and shake hands,
everybody claps their hands.

EVERYBODY

 Know we’re ready for the contest!

All the kids celebrate.

THE CONTEST – END

All the kids are in the contest, they look very nervous,

SPANKY

Easy kids! Don’t worry!
