1 About this document
This document provides general advice and recommendations for disposing of a Delta
Energy System installation once it has reached end-of-life.

2 System end-of-life regulations
Delta's mission is to provide innovative, clean and efficient energy solutions. Protecting
the environment is very important. When a Delta Energy System installation reaches the
end of its life, we strongly recommend that it be disassembled responsibly to minimize
environmental impact.

Delta complies with the European Union directives for Waste from Electrical and
Electronic Equipment (WEEE) and with the Restriction of the use of certain Hazardous
Substances (RoHS). Our energy systems should be disposed of properly when they
reach end-of-life.

All materials in the system can be recycled. Please only use licensed recycling
companies.

Adhere to the local regulations for the disposal and recycling of materials.

3 Generic disassembly instruction procedure
Step 1 Remove the plastic front plate of the unit if present.

Step 2 Unscrew all the screws on the cover, bottom and metal front plate. Take the unit
apart.

Step 3 Unscrew all the screws on the circuit board and on the metal clamps. Separate
metal from the cover, bottom and clamps.

Step 4 Remove and separate all plastic parts or isolations from the metal in the cover,
bottom and heat sink.

Step 5 Remove and separate all magnetic parts, electrolyte capacitors, cables and LCD
displays from the circuit board if present.

Step 6 Remove and separate batteries if present (especially UPS).
