Paragraph 1: Introduction

In this essay I will address the topic of mental health since it is a topic for me. very interesting and
that society could be interested in, or generate some knowledge on that topic. Mental health is a
state of mental well-being that allows people cope with the stressful moments of life, develop all their
skills, be able to learn and work adequately and contribute to the improvement of their community.
Mental health conditions include mental disorders and psychosocial disabilities, as well as other
mental states associated with high degree of distress, functional disability or risk of self-harming
behavior. People sufferers are more likely to experience lower levels of well-being mental, although
this is not necessarily always the case.

It is the state of balance between a person and their socio-cultural environment, and that
guarantees their labor, intellectual and relationships with other people, to achieve well-being and
quality of life. When a person does not achieve this well-being, that is, they have an illness or
mental health problem, can disable a person and affect all the aspects of health and development:
physical, mental and social. The national initiatives of Strengthening mental health should not be
limited to protecting and promoting well-being mental health of everyone, but also to meet the needs
of people who suffer mental health conditions.

This must be done through mental health care community-based, which is more accessible
and acceptable than institutional assistance, helps prevent human rights violations and offers
better results in recovery of those who suffer from these types of conditions. To be able to take
care of your health mental you must: Listen, feel and understand your emotions, each one has a
message for you! Maintain a healthy lifestyle, Focus on yourself, Recognize when you need help, Be
kind to yourself, among others

if we take a moment in our lives to see and realize the great movements on a scale that are taking
place globally, it is curious to note the growing interest in mental health, and i am not saying that it is
wrong, but that it was sad to see that society ancient people did not take that much importance or
they simply were not aware of said topic, but this has already changed, the mental health “boom” is
a phenomenon that is has been brewing for several decades and now conquers a part considerable
of our current media, both on social networks and in the television constantly and the term mental
health is spread in society, this information reached the listeners and thanks to this great knowledge
a change could emerge in our society. the objective of this essay is to offer good quality information
to people who are interested in learning a little more about the subject, or enriching their knowledge
and know the mental disorders that this can cause in the society.

What is mental health?
Mental health includes our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects the way we think,
feel and act when we face life. Also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and we
make decisions.

Why is mental health important?


It can help you: Cope with life's stresses, Be physically healthy, Have healthy relationships, Contribute
meaningfully to your community, Work productively, achieve their full potential (Irarrázaval, 2016).
Signs that can help you know if you have a mental health problem:

Changes in your eating or sleeping habits, Isolating yourself from people and activities that you enjoy,
Having no or little energy, Feeling empty or as if nothing matters, Feeling helpless, Smoking, drinking
or using drugs more than usual, Listening voices or believing things that are not true, having severe
mood swings

What are mental illnesses?

They are serious conditions that can affect the way you think, your mood, and your behavior. They
can be occasional or long-lasting. (Jané-Lopis,2004). The most common mental illnesses that a
person can suffer are: Anxiety disorders, Post- Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Obsessive-
Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Generalized Anxiety Disorder, Mood disorders, Eating disorders,
Disorders psychotics, Antisocial Disorder (ASD), psychopathy or sociopathy, among others.

Paragraph 5: Conclusion:

Mental health implies balance between the person and their sociocultural environment, guaranteeing
labor, intellectual and interpersonal participation, which allows achieving the well-being and quality of
life to best face day-to-day challenges, such as We have already seen, mental health must become a
priority for everyone. The world where we live, where we are exposed to much higher levels of stress,
we shows the need to know how to handle it so that it does not affect our daily performance. Likewise,
the increase in mental disorders related to This difficulty shows even more the importance of taking
care of our minds.Therefore, It is increasingly essential to implement a prevention and mental health
promotion.
