Article
You need to submit a written How-to Article to be graded along with a Writer’s Reflection.
· Click on the link in the Green Box to view the Project Rubrics for this project.
· A body that includes a list of materials and the steps that the reader should take to
complete the project, using specific language.
You might have someone else read through your how-to article to help you revise and edit.
Your Writer’s Reflection should answer the following questions, in complete sentences. Reflecting on
work that you have completed will make you a better writer in the future.
· Which step in your paper is the easiest to follow? What makes this step clear and easy to
understand?
· You created a timeline to list your steps in order. In what other types of writing would a
timeline be useful?
· Take time to examine all the papers you have written for this course so far. What is one
goal you would like to work toward to improve your writing?
Essay:
In my How-to essay, I am going to teach you all how to make sweet honey tea with simple
and easy steps, so follow along and make sure you don’t miss anything!
Step one: First, we will have to go to the store and find some honey and tea or some honey
mint tea. Tea is very good to drink when you are feeling any type of way, it gets rid of gas in
your stomach and can keep you full for a short period of time, my family and I drink tea in
the morning so that later, when its time to eat we save the food! Make sure when looking for
tea you check the ingredients of the tea to make sure that it doesn’t have anything that you
cannot consume. Feel free to ask if you need help with finding the tea.
Step two: Once you have found the tea, you will want to boil some water for about 10
minutes or until starts to steam up, add about two tea bags to the water and wait a little for
the tea bag's flavor to go through the water. Another easier way to do it is to just put the tea
bags in the water before that and let them sit together. I mostly recommend the second
option because it saves more time and it is the same thing.
Last step: Lastly, take the tea off the stove or out of the microwave and set it on the table to
cool a little so that it will still be hot but cool enough for you to hold. For me, I add sugar to
my tea in my cup but you can also choose to either put natural honey or no sugar, and then
you can enjoy your tea!
Facts about tea: Tea is a special treat for you to enjoy, a fun fact about tea is that it takes
over 2,000 little leaves for you to enjoy just one cup of tea. Imagine how much tea it would
take for a whole tea party with your friends, unless you make your own tea and have your
own tiny leaves you crush up, it would be really hard to satisfy my tea cravings.
Once you feel confident that your how-to article is ready to be submitted along with your Writer’s
Reflection save these together as one .doc, .docx, or .pdf file, then submit it to be graded. If you choose to
do a video, paste the link to it in the answer box or a .doc or .pdf document and submit it.
