Backing up the System’s Information
The software installation program automatically deletes all data from
CAUTION! the hard drive during the upgrade process. Do not skip the following
steps.

Backing up the User Presets

NOTE: The backup process backs up any User Presets, the system
settings, the printer and VCR settings, and the installed options.

Do not use a media that already contains presets on it. The system
CAUTION! cannot differentiate preset files and the wrong presets may be
restored. Always use a blank media or delete any previous saved
presets from the media prior to performing the following Steps.

VERY IMPORTANT for systems at 1.0.0 or 1.0.2 software level

only! If the system is set up to use the English (United States)
Standard and Format (go to Setups/system/Locale..../ Regional
CAUTION! Options to verify), then ask your customer if they have customized
the format. If they have, then you WILL NOT restore the customer
application presets later in the upgrade process.

It is advised that you make a backup of the system options. If a

wrong choice is made during this process you could lose the system
CAUTION! options. Making a backup of the options will allow you to restore them
if this situation occurs.

If you are asked by the customer to backup their studies to

removable media or USB drive, it is recommended to verify if the
CAUTION! customer has the “auto-delete” function turned ON. If it is ON, turn it
OFF before downloading studies and verify that all of the data was
properly backed up before deleting data from the hard drive.
