Crocheted large fruit and vegetable net in DROPS Safran. The piece is worked with lace
pattern. Theme: Christmas.

SIZE:
Width: approx. 19 cm (measured flat).
Height: approx. 34 cm (measured flat without handle).

YARN:
DROPS SAFRAN from Garnstudio (belongs to yarn group A)
50 g colour 18, off white
50 g colour 64, light beige
50 g colour 65, pistachio
50 g colour 56, powder pink

Weighs approx. 30-35 g.

CROCHET HOOK:
DROPS CROCHET HOOK SIZE 3 MM.

CROCHET TENSION:
24 treble crochets in width and 13 rows in height = 10 x 10 cm.
Hook size is only a guide. If you get too many stitches on 10 cm, change to a larger hook size. If
you get too few stitches on 10 cm, change to a smaller hook size.

EXPLANATIONS FOR THE PATTERN:

CHAIN STITCH:
If you work outermost on the hook the chain stitch will often be too tight; 1 chain stitch should be
as long as 1 treble crochet is wide.

CROCHET INFORMATION:
At the beginning of each round of treble crochets, work 3 chain stitches which replace the first
treble crochet, i.e. skip the first treble crochet from the previous round. Finish the round with 1
slip stitch in the 3rd chain stitch at the beginning of the round.

START THE PIECE HERE:

NET – SHORT OVERVIEW OF THE PIECE:


The piece starts with a circle of treble crochets at the bottom, then is crocheted upwards with
chain-spaces. A row of chain stitches is worked for the handle.

BOTTOM:
Work 4 CHAIN STITCHES – read description above, with crochet hook size 3 mm and DROPS
Safran. Form them into a ring with 1 slip stitch in the first chain stitch - read CROCHET
INFORMATION!
ROUND 1: Work 12 treble crochets around the ring.
ROUND 2: Work 2 treble crochets in each stitch = 24 stitches.
ROUND 3: Work * 2 treble crochets in the first stitch, 1 treble crochet in the next stitch *, work
from *-* to the end of the round = 36 stitches.
ROUND 4: Work * 2 treble crochets in the first stitch, 1 treble crochet in each of the next 2
stitches *, work from *-* to the end of the round = 48 stitches. REMEMBER THE CROCHET
TENSION!
The piece measures approx. 6 cm in diameter.

NET:
Continue with chain-spaces as follows:
ROUND 1: Work 2 chain stitches, * skip 1 stitch, 1 double crochet in the next stitch, 2 chain
stitches *, work from *-* to the end of the round, finishing with 1 slip stitch around the first 2
chain stitches on the round.
ROUND 2: Work 3 chain stitches, insert a marker in these chain stitches (first chain-space); this is
makes it easy to see the first chain-space when continuing in the round. Work * 1 double crochet
around the next chain-space, 3 chain stitches *, work from *-* as far as the first chain-space and
1 slip stitch around this chain space.
ROUND 3: Work 4 chain stitches, move the marker to these chain stitches (first chain-space).
Work * 1 double crochet around the next chain-space, 4 chain stitches *, work from *-* as far as
the first chain-space and 1 slip stitch around this chain space.
ROUND 4: Work 5 chain stitches, move the marker to these chain stitches (first chain-space).
Work * 1 double crochet around the next chain-space, 5 chain stitches *, work from *-* as far as
the first chain-space and 1 slip stitch around this chain space.
Repeat round 4 (i.e. all chain-spaced have 5 chain stitches) until the piece measures 34 cm
measured flat. Cut and fasten the strand.

HANDLE:
Work a row of chain stitches, 60 cm long and thread it up and down through the last round. Tie a
knot in the end.
