DAILY TEACHER SIGFRED ALLEN D. ALISBO SUBJECT General Physics 1

LESSON TEACHING August 25 & 31 2022 QUARTER 1st
LOG
DATE/s
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards 1. The effect of instruments on measurements
2. Uncertainties and deviations in measurement
3. Sources and types of error
4. Accuracy versus precision
5. Uncertainty of derived quantities
6. Error bars
7. Graphical analysis: linear fitting and transformation of functional dependence
to linear form
B. Performance Standards Solve, using experimental and theoretical approaches, multiconnected, rich-context
problems involving measurement, vectors, motions in 1D, 2D, and 3D, Newton’s
Laws, work, energy, center of mass, momentum, impulse, and collisions.
C. Learning Competencies at the end of this lesson, students are expected to:
1. solve measurement problems involving conversion of units;
2. identify common units used in measuring;
3. differentiate metric units from British unit of measurement;
4. evaluate the importance of a standardize unit of measurement.
5. convert other units of measurement to metric system of measurement.

II. CONTENT Units, Physical Quantities, Measurement, Errors and Uncertainties,

Graphical Presentation, and Linear Fitting of Data
Time Allotment 180 Minutes
III. LEARNING RESOURCES
A. References
1. Teacher’s Guide pages Page 8-10
2. Learner’s material pages Page 12 - 16
3. Textbook pages
4. Additional materials PowerPoint Presentation, Laptop, Projector and Speakers
B. Other Learning Resources  General Physics 1 for senior high school ( 2017), Makalintal, N.D; Dinglasan, M.G; Unday,
J.E.
 Metric Conversion weights & other measurements ( 1996) Batubalani, A.M.

IV. PROCEDURES
A. ELICIT
 ENGAGE The teacher will show a collection of words being used to measure by the locals
within the area before they use the metric system.
 EXPLORE The teacher will discuss the different systems of measurement being used in the
present followed by an activity wherein the students will classify different units
under these systems of measurements.
 EXPLAIN The teacher will further discuss the metric system followed by and activity
called anagram wherein they will rearrange the word to identify the base unit
used to measure a certain object.
 ELABORATE The teacher will introduce the concept of conversion of unit from a certain
system of measurement to its equivalent measurement from another system.
 EVALUATE The students will be task to conduct a 3-2-1 paper wherein they will write 3 things
they have learned, 2 concepts they find difficult and 1 question they would like to
ask.
 EXTEND Students are tasked to conduct a research for other metric to British conversion
along with the scientific notation and its prefixes.
