ARTIFACT 2 REFLECTION
1. What were the main intellectual goals of the assignment? Please situate these goals
in terms of the course theme and the communication strategies you were to learn
or practice.
The main intellectual goal of the assignment was to be able to create, in groups, a public relation
campaign for Georgia tech’s community partner talking about an event held at CreateATL. Indeed,
since the beginning of the semester, we have been working with Akissi (the creator of wonder
grubs with her husband Karim ) on promoting her website. She is making food out of mealworms,
which is a higher, healthier, and more sustainable source of protein. The mail intellectual goal of
the assignment was then to teach ourselves how we can communicate about this project through
different mode of communication. With my group, we promoted her website, which is the
electronic mode of communication. Indeed, her website is a little bit outdated, she is also working
on fish fed now and her website was not displaying and correctly highlighting her main purpose.
2. What is your argument or purpose? How did you make the argument or purpose
With my group, our argument or purpose was to redesign wondergrubs website. As mentioned
before, the website was lacking design and information, and was outdated. It was not displaying
her current activity (fish fed) and even had a very bad design. We made our purpose visible and
persuasive in the artifact by making a website that can be viewed by any one. Moreover, we tried
to redesign it and add more information and content from her words. Indeed, on the event held by
createATL, we went asking her questions about her company and her project to then display them
on the website.
3. Who is the intended audience for your artifact? Why is this an appropriate audience?
For this artifact, the intended audience is Akissi and her husband Karim, Dr.Lehman as well as
anyone who wants to know more about wonder grubs and its product. It is an appropriate audience
since Dr.Lehman is giving us this assignment and that Akissi and Karim are the creators of the
brand that we are promoting in the website. The choice of the audience is reflected in the artifact
since we are directly addressing the product and the story of the brand to whoever is interested in.
4. What are the defining features of the genre or media that you are using in this
For this project, we used shopify which allowed us to create a website for wondergrubs. It is also
the electronic mode of communication. We made use of those features by creating a shopify

If I had more time for revision, we would have maybe work more on the design of the website by
exploring all the features that shopify offers to make better design and better animations.

technology may be used in the public interest (i.e., in ways that benefit society)? In what
ways did you apply technological skills to your work in this assignment?
Working on this assignment helped me better understand the ways technology worked since we
worked on a website to promote a product. Websites are a really good way to communicate about
something, about a product and all the story behind this product.
2. In what ways did working with a community partner affect your work on this
assignment?
For this assignment, we worked a lot with communities. Indeed, since it was a group assignment,
we learned how to work in a group, and how to set responsibilities for each member of the group.
Moreover, we worked a lot with the community of create ATL which allows us to know more
about the project and help us with our website. Therefore, For this assignment working with a
community partner was very efficient and impacted a lot our project.
