Types of flower

Daffodil
The daffodil is a beautiful spring flower. Its Latin name is Narcissus.
They start flowering in early February and flower all the way to early
May. Daffodils flower from a bulb and bulbs should be planted from
September to October time. Daffodils love the sun, so they like to be
in full sun. They can cope with a little shade though as well. Daffodils
can be planted in many places including borders and containers.
They are one of the most popular spring flowers.
There are actually 13 different types of daffodil. They come in colours
ranging from nearly white to almost orange. They are mostly famous
though for their bright yellow colour. Daffodils have a sticky-out part
in the middle of the flower, this is called the trumpet.
William Wordsworth, a famous English poet, loved Daffodils so much
that wrote a poem about them.

Tulip
Tulips are another beautiful spring flower. Their Latin name is Tulipa.
They start flowering in early March and flower all the way through to
May. Tulips flower from a bulb and should be planted from October
to November time. Tulips love full sun so must be in it all the time.
They can be planted in many places including borders and
containers. They are another very popular spring flower.
Tulips come in many colours including yellow, red, pink and purple.
Sometimes tulips are grown in fields. They are planted in long lines
and when they all flower they can make a field look like a rainbow.
Daisy
Daisies are very interesting flowers. Their Latin name is Bellis
Perennis. Daisies flower from early spring to late summer. Daisies are
actually two flowers in one. The white petals are one flower and the
yellow centre is another flower. Daisies can be grown in full sun or
part shade. Daisies are actually found everywhere on the earth apart
from Antarctica.
Bees love daisies so they are a very important flower for bees and for
us. Daisies belong to one of the largest families of plants on this
earth.
