LESSON PLAN IN SCIENCE 10

I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Recognize how nucleotides are linked together to form nucleic acids.
2. Build a model and describe DNA and RNA using colored papers.
3. Express cautiousness in decision making.

a. Preparation:
- Good morning class! - Good morning Miss Estimada!
- Before we will start in our
discussion this morning, let us
all stand first for our prayer to
be led by Ethel.

- Thank you Ethel.

- Let us first check your - Secretary: No one Miss!
attendance. Miss Secretary

- Thank you Paula Jane.
- Is there any questions about - None miss!
our last topic??

c. Motivation:
- Do you know the game - Students will say yes.
entitled “4 pics 1 word”?
- Now, we will be having an - Students will say yes.
activity just like that game.
First, I will group you into
four groups. Each group will
be given a 1 whole cartolina
paper with pictures in it.
Attached with it is jumbled
letters. All you need to do is
guess the correct answer
through all the pictures.
When you already guess the
correct answer, paste the
jumbled letters inside the
box. After answering, show
your answer in the whole
class. I will only give you 2
minutes in answering it. Do
you understand? - Students will answer the
- Very good! Okay! So your question.
time starts now! - Students will show their
- Time is up! answers in front.
- Very good students! Let us
all give ourselves a round of
applause. - Students will say yes.
- Now, did you guess what
would be our topic today? - Ivan Mir: Nucleic Acid Miss.
- Okay! What is it Ivan Mir?
- Very good Ivan! Thank you
for answering.
- Now, today we will be
discussing about Nucleic
Acids.

d. Discussion: - Students will listen in the

e. Activity:
- Now, we will have an
activity. The title of these
activity are “Build Me” and
“Form Me”. Your first activity
is inside this pink envelope.
All of the materials that you
will be needing is inside this
envelope. Also all the
procedures are inside. All
you need to do is follow all
the procedures inside the
envelope. You cannot
proceed to the second
activity unless you are done
with the other. Your second
activity is inside this yellow
envelope. Same as the
other, all of the materials
you will be using is inside.
- Again, your group and your
group mates are the ones
you have a while ago. I will
only give you 10 minutes for
each of these activity. - Yes miss!

- Yes Jezreel? ago is very easy.
- Okay! Thank you Jezreel.
- Since we all know that in
doing that activity, we
should be extra careful in
pasting each nitrogenous
bases in their respective
partners because one
mistake may lead to any
kind of mutation. - Students: No miss! Or yes

situation. When we make
decisions in life, we should
be extra careful or we
should be very cautious in
doing decisions because
these can affect our life in
the future. For example,
when you cut class did you - Students will raise their hands.
think about it? Now what
would be the result of doing
that? - Angelou: I am going to get low

- Very good Angelou! - John Lester: …

- Ok very well said John
Lester.

deoxyribonucleotide units.
- 2. These are molecules that
code for hereditary traits by
controlling the production of

- 3.-4. Give two differences of
DNA from RNA. - Students: Yes miss!
- Is everybody finish?
- Ok pass your paper in the
center aisle. At the count of
five. One, two, three, four,

in front at the count of five.
One, two, three, four, and

V. ASSIGNMENT:
- For your assignment, write it
in a ½ crosswise.
1. What is chemical
reaction?
2. Give at least five types of
chemical reactions.
Explain and give
examples of each
chemical reactions.
- Do you understand? - Yes miss!
- Ok everybody stand up. - Goodbye and thank you Miss
