WORKING LANGUAGE: English
Dress Code: The recommended attire for all the meetings shall be Business attire (Suit) or
National Dress/Long Suit. For gala dinner, the dress code will be smart casual.
Medical First aid kit is available at the front desk of the Crown Plaza Hotel. Should delegates
require further medical assistance, a hotel nurse is available from 8 am to 5 pm daily at the
meeting venue.

ACCOMMODATION:

The Government of Lao PDR will provide accommodation at The Crown Plaza Hotel for one
Senior Official or ASOEN (HOD) from each ASEAN Member State for the period of the
meetings. Accommodation hospitality will include breakfast. Personal and incidental expenses
shall be paid for by the respective delegation directly to the hotel.

Other participants are responsible for their own hotel booking and should contact the hotel at

TRANSPORTATION
Senior Officials will be provided with transportation for the period of the meetings including
airport and hotel transfer.
A Liaison Officer (LO) will be assigned to each ASEAN Senior Officials for the duration of
the meetings, starting from the date of arrival to the date of departure.
There will be officers with a label ‘ASOEN-35 and related meetings’ upon the arrival of
delegates at the Arrival Hall.

OTHER INFORMATION
Time Vientiane Capital is 7 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT+7)
Currency: The official currency of Lao PDR is “Lao Kip”. The exchange rates vis-à-vis the
US dollar fluctuates and currently stand at approximately LAK 21,942,00 per US dollar (as of
25 June 2024).
Electricity: The standard voltage 240 V/ 50 Hz. Outlets are mainly made for three rectangular-
pronged plugs. It is recommended that delegates bring their own adaptors to comply with the
electric current and plugs.
Smoking Areas: Lao PDR implements a strict non-smoking policy including E-Cigarettes in
all enclosed public and workplaces.
Passport: Before departing for Lao PDR, participants should ensure that their passport is valid
for travel to Lao PDR for the whole period of the event plus six months.
Banking: Banks are opened on Monday through Friday from 09.00 – 15.30 hours and Saturday
from 08.30–11.30 am hours. However, foreign currency exchange can be found in all major
shopping areas and hotels.
