FIRE INCIDENT REPORT MNHS SHS COMPUTER LABORATORY

On August 2 5,2}23,at around 8:30 pm a fire broke in MarzvillaNational High School

Senior High building specifically the Computer Room which also served as the Faculty Room
for the Senior High School Teachers located at room number 2 ground floor at a 2 storey
building.

The residents of Mmavilla living near the school first noticed the fire coming from the
school. One resident of the Barangay noticed that the senior high school building was on fire
and immediatley called the Barangay and Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management
Office. The response was very quick, Barangay officials, residents of Maravilla and MDRRM
Team arrived to be followed by the Palanas Fire truck, BFP Dimasalang and Cataingan also
responded. The people of Brgy. Maravilla also helped through bucket relay Bayanihan. It took
them all almost an hour to suppress the fire.

After fire out declaration, concerned individuals and Barangay Officials reported that
the fne was caused by three children who tried to enter the said room with the intent to rob and
lit up a plastic because the room was too dark to see. The plastic immediately caused the fire
and become uncontrollable. The allegations are still subject for further investigations. The said
children are now underthe custody of DSWD since the latter are all minors.

The school is also waiting for the official Incident Report of Cataingan BFP,
Municipality of Palanas MDRRMO and Municipal Engineering Office for the structural report
in dgermining the extent of damage to the entire building and check the stnrctural integrity to
check if it is still safe to use and whether it need a retrofit.
