In July 2021
DFE Pharma, a company that supplies pharmaceutical excipient solutions, introduced Pharmacel sMCC 90,
a silicified microcrystalline cellulose (MCC) product. It was designed to serve as an effective solution for
complex oral solid medication formulations.

In September 2022
Roquette Frères S.A., a renowned global provider of plant-based ingredients and a top supplier of
pharmaceutical and nutraceutical excipients, has announced the full acquisition of Crest Cellulose, an
excipient manufacturer based in India.

In December 2022
JRS PHARMA (J. RETTENMAIER & SÖHNE GmbH + Co KG) revealed plans to build a new manufacturing
plant in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The facility, a two-story pre-cast building, will start construction in fall 2022
and begin operations in early 2024, producing Microcrystalline Cellulose products.
