The Aground Report on June 25th 2024

While the ship ran aground in Utirok Atoll, I was positioned on the starboard wing of
the bridge, providing me with a view of the front of the vessel passing outward with
my iPhone I used to review the track.
When I checked the tracks to see if Captain Betero had run through, I was particularly
concerned that he would not have been able to pass because he was usually going in a
six-sack manner and was consistently off course. This was not a minor discrepancy,
though. As a result, we were aware that the waterway is narrow and contains some
shallow coral.
At 0630, the vessel entered the channel, and from what I can see, the front was clear.
She moved straight out of the lagoon, making a 90-degree round to port side to face
the entrance, and did so at the same pace.
She was very far off the track to inside as she turned to port side. Unaware that he had
crossed the shallow, she attempted to move back along the inside of the canal. Though
I believed it to be deep enough to pass through, I too observed the shallow. We were
aware that the tide was high this time as well, so it shouldn't be as difficult to cross as
it was yesterday when we crossed the channel at low tide. I thought I felt the bottom
make a small dip in the ground, but then the ship sat down on the shallow in the
middle of the ship.
The only person in the bridge who can maneuver the ship without a quartermaster is
the captain. He made an excessively forceful attempt to pull both forward and
backward. After pumping off the ballast and removing the two boats, we were able to
proceed smoothly in the direction of the channel. The high tide becomes low around
0720, it emerges from the shallows. As the vessel sailed away,
